Xreal One

I've been using the Xreal One Pro display glasses since July last year. No more physical monitor display for me. They do feel a bit warm when the ambient temperature is over 25 degrees but overall very happy.

I've been using the XReal One Pros for coding work for a few months now, and have had a great experience. For me, the ergonomic benefits are the selling point, not the display quality. Not having to sit hunched over a laptop screen for several hours means I can work almost anywhere. [...] On the topic of display quality, it's important to use Better display to upscale the output to the XReals to high DPI - that gives noticeably better quality when it's downscaled to the (lower) native resolution of the XReals.

Flash forward to today: - Siri is still a pile of garbage - It only recognizes my voice despite my wife having an iPhone and being part of the household - Sometimes doesnt save the timer - Only recently did it get Spotify integration through my phone - Still cant give it multiple items to add to a list at once ----- Google Home ------ Started strong then got progressively worse with each update until it could no longer do basic tasks like timers + reminders ----- GoPro Hero ----- Housing failed on my first use and they refused to honor the warranty. [...] But I wanted to use it for a virtual monitor and all the software was terribly buggy. ------------ Worth stating my favourite purchases in the last little while that make me happy every time I use them. - XREAL One Pro (Amazing for a virtual display) - Kindle - Apple Watch (Perfect for waking me up but not my wife) - iPad Air (Second display + drawing) - Macbook Pro M4 14' (A portable beast) - Moccamaster (Simple machine, great coffee) - Toyota Tundra 2010 (Likely will run longer than I live and theres no touch screen in sight) - Yeti mug (hot drinks all day) - Hydroflask (cold water all day) - Timbuk 2 Parker (Best daily use + light travel bag Ive had in awhile)

I've been doing this a few months now with an xreal one and minisforum um790. [...] It's worked very well, the 1920x1080 resoultion of the glasses is pretty clear but I find "anchoring" the screen to be most usable because the edges do get a little blurry, but with the screen anchored you can just "look around" a little to bring them into focus. [...] I'm just used to everything being a little smaller and being able to fit more info into my FoV vs having to look around a "larger" screen for it.

I'm happy with my XReal one Pro. Wired, dumb, no way to lock me into an ecosystem like when I bought Oculus Quest and then had to deal with Facebook's bullshit Did I mention much cheaper?

I own the Xreal One Pro – they are very good! (I wish their resolution was higher than 1080p but no one else offers anything better, either.)

They can do "spatial tracking" where the display stays oriented in the same spot as a floating monitor if you move your head, or "static tracking" where the display is always fully in your FoV regardless of where you move your head. Both options plug in via usb C, and you can use them with anything that can do displayport over usb c (Steam Deck, Macbook, Android Phones, iPhones with an adapter, etc). [...]

I bought some of the latest generation of AR glasses on a whim last week (Xreal One) and actually this tech's gotten pretty good in the last 6-12 months!

I've used a lot of smart display glasses over the years but none have been as effortlessly good as @XREALGlobal Xreal One. 3DoF is enabled by default and works immediately when you plug them into another device. They're the first pair that feels like a proper monitor replacement

I bought the Xreal One, so I'm going to experiment to see how well I can integrate it into my daily use. At the very least, its standalone 3DoF is fantastic.

[...] I bought the cheap alternative: XReal One Pro and… it is kind of as expected. It is a cheap alternative. [...] The optics are not up to it: there are imperfections in the lenses resulting in blurry areas of the screen, very visible as you move your head around. They are great for watching video, make for a fantastic travel accessory, and one can use them for coding in a pinch, but I honestly couldn't find a good reason to, when I have a perfectly good MacBook Pro screen right in front of me. I would definitely pay more for glasses that would allow me to have a better virtual computer display. Currently working on an Amtrak with XReal One Pro glasses and a ThinkPad bluetooth keyboard from my Macbook Pro that is folded up in the seat pocket. [...] IDEs and web browsing aren't bad either, it's about the equivalent of a single 1080p screen. [...]

[...] Do bear in mind that although the screen is quite close to your eyes, the optics makes the apparent distance quite far. I'm using XReal One glasses, though I suspect something cheaper would serve the purpose just as well. So far, I've used them for writing and video games. I don't normally need glasses (I had intraocular lenses implanted 10yrs ago) and I am still fiddling with settings to avoid blur.

I've been using the XREAL One Pro AR glasses, and they're hands-down the absolute best in the category right now. It's the future, but is it worth the cost?
