WD Black SN850X

The oldest NVMe SSD I have at home is a Samsung 950 Pro (the 256 GB version!) which I bought in late 2015 IIRC (and put on a ASUS Z170-A mobo, that already had a NVMe slot) and which has been in use that whole time (but mostly light desktop use): Percentage Used: 27% Data Units Read: 48,801,760 [24.9 TB] Data Units Written: 84,590,914 [43.3 TB] Power Cycles: 228 <-- only 228 power cycles in 11 years, that's about 17 days uptime every time I think Power On Hours: 37,153 <-- not sure about this one, this comes out at about 9 hours / day of uptime And after 11 years it's still going strong! Now it's not on my main computer anymore: I'm rocking a WD-SN850X (recommended here on HN when it came out) but the old Samsung 950 Pro is on the desktop computer my wife uses daily (and she WFH). well, let's just say I'm very glad I got it in June and ordered additional 2x32gb of ddr5-6000 on 31 August for $171, and an 8TB WD Black SN850X around the same time for $629. [...]

I have an MBP M4 Pro and a WD Black SN850x in an external TB5 enclosure and I easily get 6-7 GB/s

I self-host private git, notes, audio, photos and syncthing - basically everything I don't want to store in the cloud. I have two Framework 13 DIY, top of the line (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 96 GB of RAM, 2TB WD BLACK SN850X). I recently bought an n100 and within a matter of days got buyer's remorse and impulse-purchased an n305 to go right beside it, which is currently sitting with a wildly overpriced 48 GB stick installed and 2TB SN850X, it's an absolute joy perfwise and the absence of heat it generates. The only thing I'd reserve judgement on is the tendency to throttle. I haven't got far enough to characterize it, but it's not clear how much value those extra cores will add over the n100 with TDP settings tweaked down in the BIOS, and if leaving the n305 to run at max TDP, heat/noise/cost/temperature-related instability may start to become an issue, especially when packing other hot components like a decent SSD into the tiny cases they come in.
