I've been really enjoying my Viture pro XRs for this kind of thing. Last weekend I put together a pretty nice wayland friendly cursor driver using Viture's linux SDK, that lets me activate cursor control with a key combo and keeps the cursor anchored to a spot in the outside world while I 'move the screen around it' by moving my head. [...] With a 3x5 choc keyboard half in each jacket pocket, the Viture 'sunglasses' on, and my steam deck in my bag, I can comfortably be productive while being out and about walking the hills.

My dream was to be able to use VR glasses and something like Samsung dex for an ultra portable coding workstation. I bought a pair of Viture Pro glasses, but they were pretty unusable for coding for me. Maybe for watching videos would have been OK but not typing / needing to read all areas of the screen.

I bought some viture pro glasses a while back and they work great for when I wanna lie in bed and play my Steam Deck or Switch. It's so much more comfortable to use than having to hold the console above my face and risk it slipping out of my hands and landing directly on my face

I've had to upgrade to a Viture Pro XR just to be able to get something working via SpaceWalker, but the experience is still inferior to what you get on Samsung or Motorola devices. Really annoying, because apart from this feature it seems to be a decent phone.

thanks - I tried ViturePro when the came out, but felt like I was seeing monitors wearing blinders/through a slit, that wasn't quite big enough to see the whole screen. Can you fully see the 3 monitors you're using there, And are you on mac or on windows? ie can you see kind of 1.5 monitors at a time, the middle one, and .5 of oneish?

Shakey sounds like they do have tracking but not working well. The display isn't huge either, the viture pro looks like it has a much bigger viewing angle so I can imagine the pixels are too spread out to show a decent resolution, like with most VR headsets (except the vision pro). I do the same with viture pro xr glasses using a Bluetooth keyboard. It's been great when I'm having neck/back issues that require laying down to recover. The downside being that xr glasses cause a bit more eye strain, which forces the short periodic breaks that I should be taking anyway.

As long as your prescription isn't to extreme the VITURE Pro XR exists and is similar. I tried it and it worked surprisingly well but returned it because the headtracking didn't work on Linux and I didn't like the static view.

I tried this with the VITURE Pro XR (has adjustable lens so if you are nearsighted and wear glasses they work) but with a linux laptop. I couldn't stand the static image (focusing on the top and bottom of the screen was painful) and wanted headtracking which only worked on Windows or the phone. [...]
