Sony ZV-1

I have had a Sony ZV-1 for about two years now. It's a fantastic compliment to my DSLR as a camera I can fit in my pocket. [...] I just noticed the subtitle is: Young people are embracing the grainy, nostalgic vibe of early digital cameras so they can spend less time on their phones. I want to add that I am Gen Z, and I also bought the camera because I wanted to stop carrying my phone everywhere :) (and now my phone lives in my sock drawer unless I need it for GPS, which is rare since I have also mostly stopped driving at this point). Two other devices that I have picked up to remove my reliance on my phone are: bone conducting headphones with on board storage (the on board storage being the key part - I have not found traditional headphones with built in storage), and a Daylight Computer for strictly WiFi based / offline mobile computing.

I don't know if "ultra portable" is referring to a specific kind of camera type, but I got a Sony ZV-1 on black friday last year, and since then it has been my go-to camera over both my DSLR and smart phone. I usually just carry it in my pocket instead of my phone these days, but I also can fit it in my pocket with my phone if I want to.

I've been using a Sony ZV-1 for a couple of years now and it's been pretty good I used it with a cheap USB HDMI capture card. I'm powering over USB though so the battery does run down eventuall (2.5 hours). There are newer incarnations of the ZV line too but I've not tried them.

a bit more pricy than what @n3on-grav3ston3.bsky.social was saying but going to throw it out there since it's what i use(d) - the sony zv-1. i actually got it last year on black friday too :p i didn't have very great seats to take photos from, but i got a couple good shots!

i got a sony zv-1 last year to compliment my dslr with a pocketable camera. i was looking for an rx100 since they are more catered towards photography which is my focus, but they were not in stock where / when i was buying. the zv-1 has been awesome; it's my most used for photos and videos nowadays

I haven't found one. I don't carry a phone unless I have a specific reason (ie: gps). I use my desktop or tablet (Daylight Computer) with a voip service (jmp.chat) when I need to use a phone number, and I carry a Sony ZV-1 in my pocket for my camera.

For simple live streaming, the standard setup is a mid-range/DSLR camera, a dummy battery, and an HDMI capture card. (I have a Sony ZV-1 and Camlink 4K.)

I sold my lenses and fullframe camera and now use a sony zv-1 - has f1.8 and a 24-70 lens, and you can attach a small 19mm, so 19mm to 70mm, 1 inch sensor, films 4k, and not much larger than the samsung samsung: Width: 99.5 mm Height: 59 mm Depth: 21.7 mm Zv-1: Width: 105.5 mm Height: 60.0 mm Depth: 43.5 mm

Just buy a compact camera. I have a Sony ZV-1 (though the RX100 is more geared towards photography if that's your preference) that I carry in my pocket, usually instead of my phone. It costs less than top it the line phones with way better picture quality. Seriously, if you care that much about your camera, don't buy a phone as your camera. Cheap out on your phone instead.

Regarding the camera, I recommend buying a dedicated camera if you can allocate the funds. I bought a Sony ZV-1 as a pocketable compliment to my DSLR, and it has ended up being the camera I use the most - even more than my phone.

I've also got a smallrig L bracket on it for extra tripod mount points (I use it as a webcam with a wall power supply, but the built in mount is blocked by the battery compartment door when it's open) and it is still pocketable. I recently picked up a compact point and shoot (Sony ZV-1) as a secondary camera to my DSLR. It is pocketable, which makes it easy easier to carry around than my DSLR, and it is a higher quality camera than my phone (which is not the best anymore (S10) but is still quite good compared to more recent phones), with the added bonus of not being a tempting gateway to the Internet. I got it because as someone currently in my mid 20s, I have never experienced being an adult without carrying a smart phone everywhere, and I want to experience that. I also don't want to lose the ability to take photos, nor do I want to lug my DSLR everywhere. [...]

I put together a small streaming setup using a Sony ZV-1 and an Elgato Camlink 4K. It took me a minute to figure out but I got it working. I’m stoked to see what I can do with it.

Like how much zoom? [...] I bought Sony zv-1 because an event where I wasn’t allowed in with a camera that had interchangeable lenses. It’s a good camera but I’m not in love with the interface & it’s heavy enough that it’s a choice to bring it vs “throw it in the bag anyway.”

before i go beyond my social media, does anyone i sort of know want to buy a used Sony ZV-1? it's a vlogging camera i bought on ebay a while back thinking i'd get way more use out of it than i have. (it works fine, but i'd say get new batteries bc the ones i have don't hold a charge for long)

I got a Sony ZV-1 with the Bluetooth shooting grip cause the price was right, lens is good, but it doesn’t have the widest angle lens but it works. No flash or light but I got the light add on …
