Sony Xperia 10 III

[...] The size requirement was basically impossible, but I switched it to a width requirement instead, and I found the Sony Xperia 10 III. [...] Cons: too tall (but at least the small width makes it a easier to use with one hand), medium-bad camera (for some reason, although I don't care) and some preinstalled apps (like Facebook, but you can remove/disable them with adb). Overall I'm pretty happy with it, and I'm considering another Xperia as a replacement if this one starts to fail (more than 4 years now, but still fine)

I have a Sony Xperia 10 III with SailfishOS and it easily does 48 hours on a charge when I'm not doing a lot of screen time. Also on days when I use it for tracking / navigation on 6-8 hour bicycle rides it easily lasts for the entire day and then some. I think this is not bad for a device that has been in daily use for almost three years and still has the original battery. [...] The only thing I've noticed to eat a ton of battery is having wifi enabled when outside the range of my own networks, it seems the scanning the phone does in the background to look for known wifi networks is not energy efficient at all.

I've been using SailfishOS since 2014. Jolla 1, Xperia X, Xperia XA2 and currently Xperia 10III. [...] Sadly I still have to use WhatsApp for a while, but for Signal there is a native app, WhisperFish. If I turn on vpn on my phone, then all the traffic from every connected device goes via vpn. [...]

I use it since 2014, 10 years and counting. I used the first Jolla 1, which was a lovely device, with a very dim screen :) It uses Wayland, Pulseaudio and Qt. I also used it on a Sony Xperia XA2, and since recently am on a Sony Xperia 10 III. The Android App support is good, I use Whatsapp and Signal with it, also Firefox and DuckDuckGo browser. [...]

I'm using an Xperia 10 III w/Sailfish now, but honestly I liked the Jolla phone I had previously much better. Unfortunately the latter eventually developed an electrical glitch which made it useless and I had to replace it. [...] And it doesn't handle the camera very well (it can take many seconds before it actually takes the photo, and there seems to be other issues too). [...]

They are also less than 2 months away from the first deliveries of the Jolla Phone 2026, a new SailfishOS device they have designed and built from scratch. [...] I have been daily driving SFOS on a Sony Xperia 10 III for the past 3 years and it works well for me. [...]

I have Sailfish X on an Xperia 10 III (eg. officially supported Sailfis OS) and I am getting Sailfish OS updates just fine. [...] Not to mention various hardware bugs that the Android firmwares need to work around or paper ober as well. [...] Currently it is usually the other way around, where the manufacturer is also the downstream OS vendor that does not get any money past initial purchase and basically wants the device to become unusable as fast as possible, so that you buy another one soon.

I'm daily driving a Sony Xperia 10 III with SailfishOS. It works as a phone, has a small selection of native apps available and runs many Android apps using LXC based solution called Android AppSupport. It's really not bad at all.

I have an Xperia 10 III, but it's running AOSP I built myself. Basically none of this new restriction will bother me, since I don't run anything but stock AOSP and get all my apps from f-droid repos.
