Sony A6700

All modern cameras are pretty awesome! I’ve been using a Sony A6700 for a couple years and had good luck with it but finally decided to move to something new after I retired and have a lot more time to spend on photography.

Stepping up my photography game, just ordered a Sony A7rVI to use with my Sony 200-600mm that I bought last month. I've been using the lens up until now with my Sony A6700 and while I think it's a great setup, I'm really looking forward to pre-capture on the A7rVI.

I just started looking at photos and videos we took on vacation. [...] And when I use the Photos app on my Apple TV to review a couple videos I took, I'm surprised at the weird, wavy quality I'm seeing in them. Funny you ask, since the a6700 doesn't have ftp support and it mainly was the reason I started this app in the first place. Also, wiring into the command structure with little shell callbacks offers me a LOT more flexibility than initially thought.

[...] The defining characteristic of SLR and DSLR cameras is the reflex mechanism, which is a giant mechanism inside the camera that sits in front of the film or sensor. [...] And the whole thing needs to physically flip out of the way when you press the shutter button to expose the film. But as a result, SLR / DSLR cameras are usually way bigger physically to make room for the mirror and the reflex mechanism. Mirrorless cameras like the A6700 don't have this reflex mechanism, so they're not DSLR cameras. They're called mirrorless cameras. Same as the cameras in our phones.

No. When I see a6700 and DSLR used in the same sentence, I have to question whether that is a misunderstanding on the author's side, whether it's actually for Sony a6700 or some other camera, or if anything in the repo makes sense or if the author knows what they are doing. This erodes confidence if the author cannot even get the very basics right.

My trust in a project which can not identify the most important characteristic of the hardware used is pretty low. The A6700 is not, in any way, a DSLR camera.

[...] - GPS doesn't count, although 'corrections' can be interesting. - IDK you can totally do a workflow with a Sony camera to send to a phone/etc, may not be full-auto but I've done it. - As a 'shooter' I'd rather get proper SD card redundancy on less-high end models than see a flash buffer for that isn't already present in how things work - My a6000 had decent wifi speeds at the start, but it's hard to keep up with standards, also it's hard to get around the 'noise' of other wifi devices without making the camera larger or complicating the design for the sake of a wifi antenna.
