Sonos Era 100

[...] We have quite a large Sonos ecosystem already (9 speakers); would you recommend getting Era 100/Era 300, or sticking with the 5's? I am not particularly interested in spacial audio (we don't have Apple Music for example).

i bought a pair today but after plenty of experimenting i’m kinda underwhelmed. Mainly vocals disappoint.

I bought a sonos era 100 speaker and set it up for my work and gaming needs and it comes highly recommended. BF6 sounds amazing on this man.

I added a single Era 100 in the kitchen in my large great room. [...] The Era 100 work perfectly every time when I link to TV for listening to news/sports just by pressing the play/pause button (press, hold, listen for the beep). I don't have to crank up the Arc Ultra anymore with the Era 100 in the kitchen. Works equally as well in the reverse when playing music with the Era 100 over iPhone Airplay. I can use the Airplay app or just press the Arc Ultra play/pause button to join with the Era 100. The Era 100 would be almost perfect if they added an upward firing speaker in the grill or on top.

Can u explain which cable u use to that adapter? I am trying to use Era 100 with my Sony TV but I can't 😭

I have a pair of GEN 1 PLAY ONE speakers that are unusable since the software pulled support. Any way to get use from these..what a waste of money and equipment.

I recommend to use the WiFi signal to stream lossless CD quality music with these speakers, if stereo paired much better. With this combination is when I can get the most of them and they deliver the best listening experience I have experienced. For the price, they are really good.

I had an absolute nightmare trying to get a pair of Era 100 to work, the app was frustrating. I sent the speakers back.

[...] It is designed for pop music anyway without classical enthusiasts in mind, so the sound quality just isn't there. For instance, the bass kicks in, even after equalizer settings, and it just sounds tinny and distorted. [...] I am not disputing that pop music sounds good on it, but classical does not. Otherwise, the setup was very frustrating, and I had so much trouble getting it to even connect to wifi. For this price point, I would suggest saving your money based upon that alone.

I had two sonos one sl stereo setup in my office decided to upgrade to the era 100 for the additional connections (Currently running one era 100). I can say the bass sounds better and its much more clear when you turn up the volume the mids and highs doesn't muddle up with the bass. No regrets in upgrading ill be getting the second one soon to pair as stereo.

I have a single Era 100 in the kitchen and Arc/dual subs/Fives in main TV room. I like not needing the iPhone app and using the one button push on top of the Era 100 to connect to the Arc for TV listening (news/sports). We just use Airplay when we need to play music on the Era 100 or add other Sonos speakers around the house (family room, Office, Master B-room, spare bedroom, 2 Roams). I have Symfonisk and One SLs doing rear surround duties in spare bedroom and office and probably won't upgrade to Era 100 unless Sonos drops them.

Love your video..I bought a pair of Era 100s to replace my Play Ones...haven't had any of the problems you experienced 😢..as for the Play Ones ....kept them ....found a spot in another room 😅😅

I hate my son os 1 it sucks it's hard to connect it always disconnects they lied when they sold the product I used to be able to play music off of my phone they took that ability away and ever since they updated their app their product sucks I wouldn't recommend Sonos but that's a great video

i have 2 of them on stereo connected to my laptop through bluetooth, no problem and no visible delay at all

So you can only use the line in adapter? I just bought one from another store (other brand) wich isnt Sonos, and its not working..

I have the arc 2 subs 2 era 100s an amplifier and 2 ceiling speakers. [...] The amplifier and the ceiling speakers over powers everything. [...]

I have them paired with my arc, sub gen 3 . Love them for surrounds . Even for music , there loud and clear. Had the one’s but I upgraded the living room with these. No regrets..

I use them as computer speaker but with bluetooth. They work very well in my opinion.

I have 2 Era 100's connected as a stereo pair and they are amazing, In a small apartment no need for a sound bar or a sub. They are great and split the sound so nicely with great quality, treble and bass!

Very informative video, Eric! I was an early adopter of Sonos being a music lover but it quickly became my favorite way to watch movies. I put together a surround system that rivals the other surround sound systems I’ve tried and owned.

In order to stop using headphones as much (earwax), I bought a Sonos Era 100 speaker. Speaker is good, but damn I wish I could use it... as a speaker. 20 million ways to play audio and NOT A SINGLE GOOD ONE for your PC. It's 2025 and we can't transfer a mere 1.4Mbit/s for lossless CD audio?????

I have a Beam with a Gen 3 Sub with Symfonisk rears for my LG OLED 55C1. [...] Don't want to purchase the Era 100 for $500 just to end up with similar sound quality as my previous Symfonisk or One SLs. [...]

I went with Echo Studio for Spatial sound. Should have gone with Era 300 but I couldn’t get myself to pay the asking price when Echo Studio is half the price. I might get one when it goes on sale.

I have two Era 100s purchased in December 2024. I have looked the entire thing over - if there is line-in, it must be through USB-C, there is no aux port.
