Sennheiser HD 600

Second set of cables on the headphones dead now, so that's averaging 3 years per cable. But this is exactly why I bought the Sennheiser HD 600. New cable ordered, and it's gonna take a minute to swap out when it gets here later this week.

One of the key features (for me) of my Sennheiser HD 600 was the replaceable cables. Plugs at both ends of the cable. I LOVED my Grado headphones but destroyed three pairs of them and was soldering my own ends on the cables over and over.

If they want to take them away, they'll have to rip my Sennheiser HD600 from my skull. Fun: - someone already mentioned minecraft lol - wireless buds, I have Jlabs go air pop and I sometimes prefer them over my trusty Sennheisers HD 600 - Ibanez rg565 genesis desert yellow (add another 0 to 100 dollars but I bought it in installments so, technically, I paid less than 100 dollars for it per month, worth it, you can shred the absolute fuck out of it) Health: - good sunglasses (cat 3 or even better cat 4) - omega 3 and vitamin d : important if you live in unhabitable, gray and cold regions of earth (like eastern europe) Education: - Anki, free for pc and android, cheap for iphones

The DX3 Pro+ seems like a great recommendation, I might have gone for that as well if it had been available when I was researching. And I concur regarding the HD600, it's a great choice for many people. I was trying out both a HD650 and the DT1990 before making my choice, and for me the 'precision' of the 1990s was just too enticing compared to the laid-back sound of the 650s -- but it was a hard choice, because sometimes you don't want precision, you just want comfortable listening, and there the HD600/650 really excel in my opinion.

HD600 are hard to drive, they should sound notificably better on a dedicated headphone amp versus a ThinkPad. Many years ago I did this comparison and the difference was very significant, I've never used a stock headphone jack since.

I can spot and recognize the audio on ABX if I focus with basically a 100% rate on the infamous ABX test website with a HD600 headphone, so basically a crap one. Now if you ask me which one would be the best sounding or lossless (for the "highest" quality one, obviously for other it's relatively easy to spot in a clean environment), I believe I would have a harder time.
