My galaxy s10 rocks. I guess the battery has had almost 1000 charging cycles and is still performing good enough. I like the smaller than average size and weight, the smooth and snappy scratch resistant screen. Speaker sound is quite decent. I don't see how I would benefit from things like 100Hz or more screen refresh rate or even tinier pixels. 5G, I would not use since that would increase the amount of wireless data so much that i'd need a more expensive plan. I have the same problem, whether using a Chromecast or a Samsung Galaxy S10 Ultra as a client. I got as far as "It looks like it is using software encoding and it should be doing nvenc or something, but it Works Fine for everyone else so nobody ever writes about how any of this shit actually fucking works so troubleshooting it is more effort than it is worth." And it isn't clear to me -- at all -- how plugging in a dongle that acts like a monitor is going to help anything at all. [...]

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 that just seemed old and broken. Replaced the battery, replaced the screen protector, and installed Lineage OS 20. 30€ and a bit of time and my phone feels like it's brand new. @lineageos.org @samsung.bsky.social galaxys10

I'm typing this from a Galaxy S10 I got in 2020, with Lineage 22 (Android 15) running on it. For sure it isn't the snappiest, but my only real performance issue is loading gifs on Signal, which takes several seconds for some reason. Just tried maps now, actually still fairly fine for me.

My Galaxy S10's bluetooth modem just said no 3 months in. My pixels have only failed me by losing support from Google prematurely. This is all anecdata.

I had a samsung galaxy s10 that imploded after 5 years of being pretty reliable. the motherboard got fried somehow. But I got a entry level Samsung and it's been pretty good battery wise.

I agree, that's why I am daily driving Samsung Galaxy S10 (exynos version) on LineageOS. I miss 2010-2015 smartphone market, it was much more innovative than it's now :(

If I am active on the BlueSky social site and app, I generally missed Blue Sky Studios a lot. Nevertheless I got a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone ready to go after testing it. I must be careful with it, otherwise it is a waste of money.
