POCO X3

Or, unpopular opinion, if you don't care about brand and/or cutting edge camera quality, just buy a cheap Xiaomi phone. I have been using the Poco X3 for 3.5 years with absolutely zero issues. Even the battery still holds through an entire day of regular usage. It cost me 1/4 of the price of an iPhone and I get the same if not bigger value for my use cases (bigger in terms of battery life which was laughable back when I still used an iPhone 6, don't know if things have gotten better now).

I feel like, from the hardware point of view, wireless charging should be more durable than using a cable, since the charging connection is done without contact. But then again, wireless charging is less good for the battery then wired, so it's probably a balancing act. That being said, I know that the moment I switch to a phone that supports wireless charging, I won't be able to go back, so I've just been trying to use the phone I have (POCO X3 Pro) until it'll completely break. I had the battery replaced, because it was starting to bloat to the point that it was starting to bend the phone. I've had the back panel glued three times, but it still comes off, so now there's always a gap in the phone, most certainly not waterproof anymore, I would have wished that the repair would have been flawless, because as things stand, I am disappointed and had I known that this would be the final result (I could try taking the phone back to the service centre to get it reglued, but I've already done that twice, so now I feel uncomfortable and awkward having to ask yet again, for who know if any improvement.

I finally unlocked the used Poco X3 i got a week ago and started by installing Ubuntu Touch (@ubports) Pros: it works! It's an actual non-Android OS and it actually-for-real works, with camera and sensors and all. [...]

I love my current phone but the battery-life is crap at this point, I've had it nearly 3 years (longest ever for a phone!). So, looking for recommendations for a new one! Currently using a POCO X3 NFC Needs to have external SD card support, ideally headphone jack, but otherwise I'm not too fussed

Phones I've had: iPhone 5C (cracked week before new hand me down), Samsung S7 EDGE (big pink line on screen for the duration of owning it), OnePlus 5T (dropped and screen instantly died), doodoo oppo, Poco X3 Pro (bootlooped after drop), iPhone XS (bootloops) and now Motorola G54. might be more.

I was recently working on porting PMOS to Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro, though switched to NixOS due to much faster update cycle. I got much further than I thought I would (though this was mostly possible due to LLMs without them it would waaaay longer), fixed everything including cameras except mic working in calls. Who will make these custom battery pouches for old phones though? Think my old Poco x3 pro, not the iPhone 17. [...]

I am also using a Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC and a Gigaset GX6 [0], but not as a daily driver. [...]
