I got a base disc edition in early 2021. [...] And it was totally worth it. Graphically id call it eye popping and extremely butter smooth lag input free gaming. If i bought a Gaming pC of equivalent id be spend £3000 plus monitor.

I was one of the lucky ones that was able to pre-order on Walmart and get it one release date. No need for me to upgrade. My library is huge and will take me years to finish

Got mine in June 2025 off the Facebook market. It worked perfectly. I paid $50 more than I paid for the PS4. $350. Adding an M.2SSD helped so much.

Yes, just got mine last holiday season. It’s like a 2 in one console, being able to play PS4 and PS5 games and mostly at 60fps which is a game changer for me.

I finally got one in October of 2025. No regrets whatsoever!

I picked up a PS5 Slim with the black friday 2025 deals and i'm having a good time with it so far. It has basically become my new media center thanks to me having frustrations with my smart TV's built-in software, and as for games, Astro Bot has been the highlight so far. Going back and forth between it and my Switch 2 pretty consistently so far, doesn't feel like either has supplanted the other as "dominant console" as of yet since I have sizable backlogs for both machines.

I already have a PS five since launch, but I just started looking at SSD prices again and prices has drastically changed like you easily have to spend 280 upwards are almost $400 just to get 2 TB of storage in 2023. I bought a Samsung 980 Evo 2 TB with a heat sink for only $130 like what is going on. I can see why PlayStation is charging 750 for the pro the only reason to even get the pro is to just get the extra 2 TB storage and you get better performance opposed to buying one separate from that.

I mean, I'll take the 4090 if you don't want it :) It's funny how we convince ourselves we need things. I bought myself a 3080 Ti a few years ago because I wanted a gaming computer, but then I ended up buying a Playstation 5 and not using my computer for anything more intensive than Factorio. More recently though I have been using my 3080 for Comfy UI image generation and messing around with local models, so I guess it's getting use now.

:) I have a playstation 5 and i snagged a ps4 disc of cyberpunk 2077 from the bargain bin for next to nothing when it was the scandal of the day that it didn't really work on consoles. CDProjekt Red being CDProjekt red, that gets me a full free upgrade to whatever the current version of the game is on ps5. As someone who owns the PS5, the Xbox Series X, a Steam Deck, a gaming PC and the Switch 1 (but not the Switch 2 yet), I can honestly say that the Xbox has some advantages over the PS5 as well. Definitely worth it, I bought the Fortnite bundle 450$cad, storage kinda sucks, so could use a ssd , but not cheap.

The kind of tv you’d need to even get the benefits of a ps5 pro will be very expensive. [...] I’m perfectly fine with the ps5 in 4k. Now the ps6 will have better graphics for sure but the difference between the ps5 and ps5 pro I don’t think is enough to warrant you selling your console, losing money, and getting the pro.

I updated my ps4 reluctantly a couple of months ago. I love the ps5. Yet also logged 1.5k hours just on playstation year.

I bought a 5 pro and returned it a week later and stuck with my 4 pro honestly I should’ve kept the 5 pro for GTA 6

I used to have a PS4, but I upgraded to a PS5 in GTA six comes out. I can play it.

Bought the slim disk version for 450$ a month or 2 ago during the sales, it's the cheapest it's ever been in my country and expecting the prices to go up and in anticipation of GTA6 decided to finally pull the trigger, got a PS4 pro so didn't really feel the need to upgrade but I'm a collector as well so eventually was going to buy the PS5 anyway so for that price for new in box it was worth it, I own 5 switch ones but no plans of the new overpriced with a few overpriced games switch 2. Also got a good gaming PC but with what's going on with hardware not going to upgrade my PC anytime soon.

I own the Slim Digital & I'm satisfied so far using a 1440P monitor. I think if I ever purchase an OLED 4k 144hz TV I'd change my opinion on the slim digital PS5.

The Remotto 5 clip on battery pack for the Dualsense controller is BRILLIANT. I did a 16 hour stretch on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Still had a fully charged Dualsense at the end of it.
