Pixel Watch 2

I have had a Pixel Watch 2 for a few years now, it was pretty new when I got it, and I do like it a lot, but I definitely envy your bigger display. The interface is clean and works, fitbit is actually pretty nice, and it holds a full nige+day charge after about only 45-60 minutes of charging. (1/2)

Damn Google for making a 45mm Pixel Watch 3 only a year after I got my 41mm Pixel Watch 2 that works perfectly and does exactly what I want it to do.

When I first bought my pixel watch 2 I was able to optimize the settings to get almost 3 days of battery life. A year of firmware updates later, I am back down to less than 2 days using the same settings. I don't think the big manufacturers are going to change their ways anytime soon...

I have been using the Google Pixel watch 2 for the last year and was generally happy with it but recently swapped out to a Garmin Vivoactive 5, I love how long it holds a charge and there are some other cool things about it, the Google watch has to be charged daily, that was a bummer.

Was it an OG Pixel Watch or a different model? I got the Pixel Watch 2 around 2 years ago now and haven't noticed any battery degregation yet so wondering how much time I might have left.

I got a spectacular deal on the pixel 8 when I called to complain on my phone plan, otherwise I would have still used a Motorola. The phone was $200, and I got a pixel watch 2 LTE as well that I flipped for $250. The only thing I had to do was keep using the phone plan I have used for 8 years for another year.

"Power user?" Having a Pixel Watch 2 (or 3), I keep thinking no one working on this device really uses it. It's supposed to be a sports and health device but the stopwatch app doesn't even support laps.

I still have the Pixel Watch 2 and it's much the same, battery barely lasts a day, if even that. Good news: PW2 will reach End of Support come October, perfect time to buy the PW5! /s

I sold my Pixel Watch 2, but I wasn't able to get two days' worth. The sacrifices weren't worth it. Namely, you'd have to turn off the always on screen (I gave this up easily), as well as "flick to wake", which I found harder to give up. If I were to press a button on my watch to read a notification, I may as well use my phone. [...]

I use a Pixel Watch 2, not an Apple watch, but my charging behavior is pretty much as you describe. It goes on to charge during my morning loop, and is always full by the time I'm ready to head out the door. It's good enough that I don't have to think about the charge state at all through the day, it'll last regardless of usage, and that's all I need.

FWIW, I had a Pixel Watch 2 with this issue every now and then in the first couple of months when it was brand new. I've not had this issue in 2024 essentially (fixed as part of monthly updates).

I've got a Pixel Watch 2, and it's okay, but the fitness features are all unusable to me; I use a Fitbit Inspire for sleep tracking and wake alarms while my Pixel Watch is on its charger overnight, and Google only lets me turn on fitness tracking on the Pixel Watch if I migrate my fitness tracking from the Fitbit.

I just set up the Pixel Watch 2 that came with a discount when buying a Pixel 8 and Google pushed me to reactivate my 12 year dormant fitbit account and migrate it, so of course it's due to ride off into the sunset.

Less expensive, and there are more options for various devices. For phone, I've had a OnePlus for years and loved it. For Smartwatch, I have a Google Pixel Watch 2, though there are cheaper options that are fine. [...]

and also because effing Google seems to have discontinued the charger - despite still selling the watch (it's a Pixel Watch 2) - I have had to turn to Amazon and wade through loads of third-party chargers and hope the one I've chosen is OK.

My sleep schedule was always messed up, but after I got the Pixel Watch 2 for my Pixel 7a phone, I started to maintain my constant sleep schedule right now, which is why my sleep animal is the bear according to Fitbit. 🛌⌚

NGL I've been using my Pixel 7a and Pixel Watch 2 the last week and I really do enjoy it.

As a GrapheneOS user, I've had to buy pixel watch 2 in order to be able to pay via Google Pay abroad (since I unfortunately happen to reside in an internationally sanctioned country, local cards work only inside the country, some crypto exchanges provide Visa/Mastercard cards, but virtual only, so Google/Apple pay is the only choice). Huh, just yesterday I started setting up and getting used to my new (to me) Apple Watch Series 6, after having used a Pixel Watch 2 for several months. I've had a Pixel 2XL, Pixel 6Pro or XL (worst phone I've ever owned), and now a Pixel 8 Pro. [...] When I bought the 8 I got a "free" Pixel Watch 2 with the purchase. I literally had this thought just recently when it came to smartwatches, I got a pixel watch 2 and it kept doing way too much and it kept wanting me to use it like a 2nd phone that requires my full attention, when all I wanted was literally a watch with some smart features here and there

Got a Pixel watch 2 with my phone moderately useful for payments / Notifications. At this point I don't realistically use the fitbit stuff much more than a step counter but the sleep tracking is kinda useful (though I doubt its classification of sleep stages)

I have a Pixel Watch 2, it seems that only certain carriers (typically not MVNOs) can set it up with an eSIM that will present as having the same number, but any MVNO that provides eSIM setup via QR code should work to provision via the connected phone. I can imagine Apple being less inclined to allow arbitrary eSIMs on their watches, preferring to only support the case where the eSIM is guaranteed to support the "correct" presentation.

I don't blame you for waiting. The only reason I got my Pixel Watch 3 is because my Pixel Watch 2 up and died on me. My wife and my mother-in-law are both on their Pixel Watch ones still.

I've got a Pixel Watch 2. I use it more for the watch features, but if all you really want is the tracker stuff, I can imagine it would be hard to justify the extra cost of the whole watch over the basic tracker.

I'm still waiting for the Pixel Watch 2 to be updated (I haven't received the Individual Contact Tile yet), but I'm also waiting for Wear OS 5 to come to my watch assuming Google gets the soft-bricking issue fixed or if I upgrade to the Pixel Watch 3 which is what I am planning to do via trade-in.

Same ish pattern for me on my Pixel Watch (2 mabye?) unless I forget there's plenty of time to keep it topped up for a day and change of use with just a quick charge in the mornings. There's plenty of time I don't need a watch on to give it a quick top up.
