for me it's the hope of at least some minor degree of longevity. I used a pixel 3 for six years, until the degenerating battery finally drove me to get a new phone, and I paid whatever exorbitant amount they wanted for a pixel 9 pro which will hopefully last me another six years

I believe I've had this bug before, but I don't know what resolved it. I've been using a Pixel 9 Pro for about a year and it's been working fine so far. My guess is because they update the alarm constantly.

I switched from a pixel 3 to a pixel 9 pro over a year ago, and I still miss the smaller form factor. the pixel 3 really was the perfect size for me and I am sad I can no longer get a smallish phone with a high end processor.

I had the same issue with Pixel 9 Pro battery. Clearing cache of "Device Health Service" fixed the issue.

I did the switch to graphene on my pixel 9 pro recently and have 0 regrets. I only have one day's worth of light usage on a Pixel 9 Pro, but it feels at least as responsive as Nova Launcher. Zero lag in switching screens, opening the app drawer, or scrolling through apps - there is a control for the animation speed, but it doesn't seem to really have any impact, positive or negative.

They must have fixed it in recent versions. My pixel 9 pro battery seems the same with proton VPN (wirrguard) on or off.

I just switched from an iPhone 13 mini to a Pixel 9 Pro, and it's tough to admit but I can do so much more with my thumb on a big Android than a tiny iPhone. Mostly due to the back gesture always works (never need to tap the top left corner in some cases, and also being able to return to the 3 button navigation) and being able to pull down the notifications by sliding down on the main screen.

I had an Pixel 9 Pro with the ultrasonic sensor and I found that it wouldn't work at all with a tempered glass screen protector. The optical sensor they had for previous generation sort of works fine with a screen protector

My Android will actually take dramatically better photos than a u43 camera with kit lens, especially in low-light. I'm not in the iPhone ecosystem anyway, so it's probably moot, but one thing Google did really right this year was to issue Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL that are identical in everything but the screen size. I'm very happily upgrading from a very large 8 Pro to a nicely pocketable 9 Pro that contains all the same guts as the 9 Pro XL. Apple should have done the same.

The other important aspect is that the Pixel 9 refurbished excellent in Amazon can be bought for under $500 (I bought mine for 450 and it came with everything perfectly), while the iPhone 16 pro max is $1200 as of right now, and refurbished is still over $1000. So yeah, I think that costing literally between 2 and 3 times as much should also be factored in.

I got a Pixel 9 Pro a couple days ago, I'm still getting used to it after 3 years using an iPhone 13 Pro but for now I only have positive things to say about it. The battery is amazing.

love this review! I got a Pixel 9 pro and came from an Iphone 14. Have not looked back since!

Bought my Pixel 9 Pro XL a week ago. I have no idea about the apple world, as I always used Android, but even compared to other Android devices (e.g. Samsung), I like the Pixel 9 Pro XL the most (so far).

I was an idiot and switched to an iphone 16 pro max after a lifetime on Android and using mostly Nexus and Pixel phones. Wow do I miss Android.
