[...] On Android that's definitely the case (more people do so to increase the lifespan than to hack apps), but the desktop market progresses slower than mobile in terms of software. I was running my Xiaomi Mi 6 for 7 years thanks to LineageOS, and it would've been longer if I hadn't dropped it the second time (the screen cracked, battery was 60% and repair wasn't worth it). Now I'm running Nothing Phone 2 am switching to LineageOS once the support goes out. I had a foldable phone I really liked but then I dropped it and getting the screen fixed was the cost of a new Nothing Phone 2, so I got a Nothing Phone 2. The end.

speaking of which, the Nothing Phone 2 really unfolds its true potential when it isn't crashing as your daily driver phone (like it did last time I used it properly as one of my main devices)

I own a Nothing Phone 2. Apart from it sliding off things, it's excellent.

Ohh nice, I completely agree! I've used android since v2.1 and love it a lot! Even got the Nothing Phone 2 recently especially for the UI, but when I had my s23+ I customized it lots too, it's so good to have options!

Depending on how much you wanna spend, the Nothing Phone 1 or 2 would be much cheaper than the standard flagship phones. I bought a Nothing Phone 2 last month and it's been fantastic

and I think I got the nothing phone 2 bcuz of rednote and rednote and what people do to their smartphones in china has absolutely fucked me up and has had a massive impact on the development and design of the platform
