Nokia 2720 Flip

[...] It's been more than 10 years since i had that Nokia and yet, never needed anything but that phone for music; from time to time i update the play list and add more songs. So, using CDs isn't a good idea, while you have a Nokia which is magically will be the main source of thousands of song with solid battery life!

i got my first 2820 back in 2020, my second a year or so later, and tomorrow i will be getting the cat s22 flip. only $100 cdn, where it used to be $200 cdn a couple years ago. love the 2820, but looking forward to the better specs of the s22 while retaining what i love about 4g flips

I stopped using a smartphone myself, it's about to be my fourth year come January for since I haven't used smartphone and I been using a flip phone myself. And I embraced using a physical gps unit, tablet, pedometer, laptop, digital camera with mp3 player with all of my pirated music on it.

I used to be a guy who used to spend literally more than 12 hours on social media then one day I realised this isn't the real me so, since past 5-6 years I have become a very private person TBH I like myself this way as I see people nowadays on their phones everytime rather than enjoying the moment. I also gave up on using smartphones for more than a year but we are soo dependent on smartphones nowadays just to do Everyday task I have to get back to it now I only use my Phone for work or for calls.

I agree with you 100%. I gave up my smart phone over 5 months ago, because I was wasting too much time on it. I had headaches and text neck from staring at my smart phone so much. I was dizzy too. I now only use a very basic cell phone. I feel so much better and more free. My brain feels younger,fresher and more alert without a smart phone. I will never go back to a smart phone. No matter what!

I lived with a flip phone for 7 months as a 17 year old student. I really liked it but did still end up on Youtube quite a bit. My mental health remained quite poor, so it is not a magic solution of course. I used a Motorlla V220 flip phone from 2004 which I loved until it became unreliable... going to ask for a new flip for Christmas.

I got both my smartphone and a Nokia 215. Main issue for me was that my banking and social security are things I use every day, but I just switch out the SIM between them from time to time on days when I want less screen

Best decision ive made. Was tough at start but i feel much better from it, and getting out of the app game is the best thing anyone can do. i have an emporia touchsmart which includes whatsapp. which is all i need. i dont really like it, but its what most of my family and friends use. it has clunky internet, so if i need to know something at a push its there.

I have own a Samsung Galaxy for 4 years now and will go back to old fashion phones like this. The only thing preventing me to change was instagram but if I can put pics from my laptop than everything is fine. [...]

I have a nokia 3310(2017) i love this phone ive had it many years now.

I use both. My office job requires me to have a smartphone for several reasons (and my corporate phone number is actually in a VoIP app). At the end of my shift, I turn it off and continue with my flip phone ✨. I also use a smartwatch to track activity, but it doesn't have an internet connection by itself, so I don't get any notifications.

Im just going to keep my smart phone for maps and youtube music. Other than that it will stay at home. Also use it for the Yuka app and plant ID app for when im foraging

I only use my smart phone 15 hours a week when I'm delivering for Uber eats.. after that I'm using this flip phone .. music ? My iPod touch lol .. my life is so much better now.

I recently got a flip phone too, I still have a smartphone, but I only pick it up when I really need to (which is rarely). Life is just better with a basic phone

I am also a CD person, having physical media imo feels the safest and the best. 2000s technology is still my favourite! Even until now I can't finish my library of PS3 and PSP games, portable consoles and mp3 players are my favourite form of entertainment as I prefer offline entertainment so that I don't have to always find wifi and depend on good signals.

I use the same flip phone. Found my smartphone just taking up all my downtime. I'm 37 so I found the switch back to t9 texting quite easy.

Gotta say Bravo! I'm worried for the younger generation who are glued to their smartphones, won't go any more because it's too negative, but I've gone back to feature phones because...I need my own time. I'm 65 btw, and have enjoyed the growth of tech from B/W tv's to now. [...]

Good for you! I have never had a smart phone, it's sad that there is nothing out there to simply make & receive phone calls.

So cute gen z is appreciating flip phones lol. I’m 36 now and got my first phone in high school when i was 16. It was an LG flip phone and i had T9 mastered 😂 this makes me want to go back

I recently switched to the Nokia 3310 and its amazing! I do still have my smartphone which I keep in a desk at my room and I take it out like 2x a week for online banking and other stuff that nowadays requires smartphone, but other than that its dumbphone all the way and though it might sound as hyperbole... it actually IS positively life changing :)

Keypad texting is easy, before smartphones I started with the Nokia 5110, also had a couple of flip phones, they were Motorola's in particular the V220, it had T9 predictive texting, I was really quick with those types of keypads.

I use a flip but I also have a cheap 40$ smartphone that I do not use as a phone but as a small travel tablet, I have all my music and podcasts pre-downloaded onto it and even some pre-downloaded games.

I have the same exact phone and im typing this comment from my flip phone. I keep this phone everytime i need a social media break as it has made my panic attacks worse.

I used to have a flip phone myself before smartphone came out and it's not bad at all and you have to take a break from social media from time to time

i made the same thing with the original nokia 2720 fold (yeah) for one month and i an amazing experience i would probably do it again if i hadn't bought a smartphone more powerfull than my laptop...

I never had Spotify, I listen to CD all time. My car has a navigation. Strava, yes.

Smart! I start to do this with an apple watch as it have maps, music(even offline) and querty keyboard. The result is simply WAW.

I just switched to a new Kyocera Dura XE on AT&T, I just activated it today, so far so good! 700.00 less than my last phone, a LG - G8 ThinQ.

Nice ! We use only flip phones after a dark year of so-called smartphones, and it's like getting back to ourselves - I kind of feel sorry for the people who are so attached to that 'smartphone' device, because the are the opposite of human contact. ❤❤
