I've had my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller 2 for a year and I still love it. [...] It might be the most comfortable controller that I've ever used.

I own a Steam Deck. It's a fairly glitchy experience, especially on a TV. [...] There's lots of fun issues like "Yes the Steam Deck supports Switch Pro Controller, but enable gyro controls and it will make a grinding sound when gyro is used" and "gyro controls work fine in handheld mode, but try them in Half Life 2 with a PS5 or Switch Pro Controller and the movement will be choppy and janky even though that game was supposedly updated for Steam Deck." There's also fun, more serious issues like a documented "Steam Deck crashes and reports low battery, refusing to even boot up for more than a few minutes if you have poor wifi signal" which necessitated getting a wifi booster. I also just got soft locked in Portal 2 due to a bug, requiring me to restart the chapter, my save was unbeatable as the elevator to go to the next level wouldn't operate, and I googled this error and it's also present in the Switch port of Portal 2. I guess Valve is too poorly staffed to patch a 13 year old game breaking bug. [...]

Lutris is a beautiful launcher I hadn't realized until now. It eases so much of the manual work as well <3 Also, related: The Nintendo Switch Pro controller working out of the box on Linux is awesome. I've been using this controller for weeks on my PC, it hasnt been used on the switch since lmao

I've been searching for a great quality PS5 controller that has the left thumb stick in a neutral position and doesn't cost $250. On the rare days when get a chance to play a longer session, I can use the Xbox or Switch Pro controllers for hours without issues, but I hardly touch my PS5 because the left thumb stick requires such a stretch that my thumb tendon already starts to get sore after 15 minutes. I understand the business logic, but I wish the console manufacturers would allow more portability between them.

Hmm - I use a switch pro controller USB C -C cable to charge my Pixel 8 sometimes, and I notice that the phone often starts and stops charging while plugged in. Maybe there's some extra hardware in that cable...

I hope there's a way to disable the chat button entirely, so I'm not accidentally triggering a function that I never want to use and my kids certainly won't be using, like the damned "share" button on the PS5. Nintendo is very concious about parental features, so I'm sure there's some way to disable the chat button. [...] How's the Deck with multiple Switch Pro controller support? After using my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on my PC for so long, I had almost forgotten that I owned a Steam controller. I dug it up recently. Not entirely sure what to do with it now, though.

Useful for lots of things - my earbuds have a really vague charging light, but if it says 0.00w I know it's done. I have a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with a dodgy connection too, and it lets me know it's actually charging.
