Logitech MX Master 3S

I had two mouses get that problem about a year in. One was the MX Master 3S, a 100 € mouse. For that price point, it's entirely unacceptable for the mouse to only last a year. Good thing it had a two year warranty, but it's such a hassle to be without a mouse for weeks.

I bought a Logitech trackball (the MX5something), and the switches stopped working a year in. Amazon refunded me, so I bought an MX Master 3S. The switches for that also stopped working a year in. [...] I also bought some replacement switches and repaired the lot, so now I have four mouses/trackballs. [...]

Wish the review I read recommending the Logitech MX Master 3S had mentioned that this $100 mouse's left click very commonly will start flaking out after about 1.5 years of use

I have a Iiyama with build in hub, at first it seemed ideal, just plug everything into the monitor. But my mouse glitches when used through the hub (MX Master 3S), the internet cable is only available to the active computer (so no tasks requiring internet can run on the other computer). All in all, I just use the USB-C to HDMI switch functionality and couple the computers to keyboard/mouse via bluetooth, plus I bought a switch for the ethernet. [...] Another minor annoyance is that when I turn off one computer and want to switch to the other, the display turns off, taking about 5-10 sec to do so. I’m also going to return an MX Master 3S (to my employer though). I could only fix its weird scrolling behavior with Logitech’s bloatware, still, for the life of me I couldn’t improve the cursor precision on macOS, it’s was simply maddening to use it. Strangely on Linux the precision issue isn’t so bad.

I see a number of recommendations for Logitech mice, FWIW I got a MX Master 3S because I once had a MX Revolution that I loved. [...] The polling speed was awful, Bluetooth connectivity laggy, no built in settings memory, it doesn't scroll correctly with anything Apple out of the box, and there's no mobile apps for it if you want to expand beyond desktop operating systems. I ended up sticking with what I already have, but if I were to go and buy something today it would be a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro or a Magic Trackpad.

I think the real highlight is that it is not backwards compatible. So I now have an MX Keys and an MX Master 3s, both on their own dongle.

I've gamed on old keyboards, membrane keyboards, mechanical gaming keyboards (for a long time), and now... I purchased a Logitech MX keys mini wireless keyboard (no numpad) and MX Master 3S mouse and game with those. Using the 2.4GHz logi bolt usb receiver when I'm on PCs or server (way easier than bringing cables to the garage), and bluetooth for my phone or Steam Deck. [...] And I can bring it with me should I need to keyboard away from home, but usually I'm AFK when not at home.

Im currently typing this on a fresh Fedora install, on an XPS 7390 using a an Logitech MX Master 3S mouse, a K380 keyboard and Teams with Bose QC35 headphones. I also use a BT Polycom on the same laptop, didnt have to do anything other than repairing. Its 100% your hardware, bluetooth has been solid for a few years now.

So I got a Logitech MX Master 3S as part of my new job and although a little pricey it is Gucci AF. It has a weighted spinny wheel that goes swiggidy swoosh and it’s little things like that that get me through the day (Keychron V5 Max in the back that also gets my nerdy juices flowing when I use it)

I wanted to give a quick review of a mouse that I just got: The Logitech MX Master 3S is a good mouse that feels ergonomically sound. I use it daily with macOS and it works well. The End.

My first MX Master 3S had a bad right or left click button on Day 1, which would miss clicks constantly. Thankfully it was pretty easy to get a warranty replacement for this, which came as a full retail-boxed unit, so I now have an extra receiver too (I understandably had to mail in the useless defective mouse itself).

Using Linux with an MX Master 3S, I see noticeable lag sometimes when moving the mouse cursor around when using the bolt receiver. Using regular Bluetooth gives me no issues.

[...] And, even though it's not as critical for office use, I found it very pleasant to have next to no lag on a wireless mouse. I now have a mx master 3s, which has "ok" wireless performance and is surprisingly nimble for its size and weight. I can't complain about it while I use it, but I immediately feel the difference when I switch to a Logitech G Lightspeed or a friend's Razer with whatever their equivalent technology is called. And since these aren't that expensive (the MX is actually the most expensive mouse I've ever had), this tends to reinforce my considering them as full competitors to logi's "office" line.

I use solaar with a mx master 3s and it's great (thumbscrolling works as it should) except the mouse battery level indicator is uncalibrated...20% at the highest, then it's quickly at 5% where it stays for-e-ver. I gas-up my car when my tank is below 1/4, so it's a little disconcerting to have a red battery indicator with an exclamation point on it...not enough to actually want to use it with the cable plugged in, but still...

I too have a logitech MX master 3S mouse and it's fantastic across Windows, Linux and Mac. The only downside of it, is that it needs a larger battery for the price. I think you can hack it and put a larger one in there if you like, but still, the thing costs $99 which is kind of a lot for a mouse.

That is exactly why I bought a new mouse not long ago, and when you use the Logitech MX Master 3S that is not ideal. The old one worked, but it got so stiff my finger wasn't scrolling just sliding on it. I am still gonna take the old one apart and see if I can fix it though.

Sounds nice, except so far I have only one Logitech device that works with the bolt receiver, which is the MX Master 3s. [...] So now I have 3 separate adapters for 3 devices, all of which theoretically support pairing multiple devices (I think the lightspeed only does 3 though).

My wireless mouse has a usb-c port for charging only (doesn't have a wired mode). But its dongle is usb-a only and no adapter was provided. It's a rather recent and "high-end" model, too: an mx master 3s.
