correct, but honestly it's much more interesting to have the new Siri on my phone than my mac, at least in my case. Very disappointing, having bought an Iphone 16 pro mainly for the new AI features which almost 2 years later are still not there to be used.

Ever since switching to iOS 26, on an iPhone 16 Pro that is now only 14 months old: - The iPhone lockscreen does not consistently swipe away after unlocking. [...] I have had to set up a separate physical alarm. - Podcasts keep crashing, and resetting to 1x speed. - Internet connection completely drops, and only recovers once I completely reboot my phone. - My phone starts to overheat with no discernible cause. I sometimes wake up with my phone so hot that it's almost painful. - Once, while charging, my phone dropped to 16% battery from 85%. According to the Battery Usage chart, the Weather app (which I had not opened) used 83% of the battery in the background. This is on top of the completely ruined, battery-killing interface. [...] Software engineering is very hard, but Apple seemed to have had a decent system. Recently, a mandatory iOS 26.2 update hit and I had numerous messages from non-techie friends about it (who I believe had it installed over iOS 18). [...]

The software bloat is starting to outpace the hardware folks' best efforts. iOS 27 runs like ass on my year-old iPhone 16 Pro.

My biggest issue with iOS 26 is not the UI (it’s subpar compared to prior work), but the fact that it drains my battery 2x faster than before and I’m with an iPhone 16 Pro. That’s unacceptable performance degradation on a 1-year old phone.

With Three UK I used gathered evidence over the course of 4 months to wiggle myself out of a £46/month 28-month 5G contract (had to pay £200 remaining on my iPhone 16 Pro) when I demonstrated that my phone was basically useless whenever in the postcode are where I live, even if I always had 1 bar 5G signal. [...] The fact that Wifi calling is also super buggy and almost never work, played also a big role. [...] So I just need to wait for them to strengthen signal, or move!

Still have my 16 Pro since launch day and plan on holding onto it untill the iPhone 20 next year. iPhones honestly haven't gotten significantly better in performance and capability since the 15 Pro, so here's to hoping that the iPhone 20 is another excellent anniversary phone like the iPhone X 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I also got this phone about 2 years ago when it came out. The Max version mind you. It's been a great device but I want the newly announced Duo. If I can score a pre order I'll trade in for that.

Last year was the first year I had not upgraded my phone in a while and now I am in the enviable position of having a paid off iPhone 16 pro. I can see what all these look like and buy at my leisure!

My iPhone 16 Pro is the jankiest user experience I’ve had on a new iPhone ever. On my Mac the settings app pauses and stutters. Jobs would have thrown things if he ever saw this.

I’m not crazy like some people, but I’ve broken screens many times and every time it has been in a case, one time it was in a case I specifically bought for extra protection. Half of my screen breaks have been from getting out of my car with my phone in my lap and gravel on the ground. Another way I’ve broken screens is from my phone falling out of my pocket and onto rocks/concrete. [...] I slipped while scrambling some rocks and my phone(in a case I bought for this long backpacking trip) got smashed on my hip, another time I was running around at my friend’s house at night and ran into a wheel barrow, smashing it on my thigh. Never had a battery fail. A note: My current iPhone 16 pro is built like a tank, and the glass is truly extraordinary.

My iPhone 16 Pro's screen got scratched/cracked within weeks of me getting it when none of my other iPhones (5 of them from the 3GS until the 13 mini) ever had any screen issues. It's hard to not feel like the durability is decreasing.

People who do get warranty replacements report receiving bags that are worse than the one they sent in. [...] Cheaper hardware. This is an iphone 16pro chip. That's the phone I have and don't love it. I am not sure if this is a useful config.

Re-indexing does occur after an update, but iOS 26 consumes more battery life than iOS 18 anyways. Just in one example video ( ) they see the phone get hotter and the battery drops 13x faster during non-static sequences like checking notifications, etc. Just anecdotally, my iPhone 16 Pro seems to last half as long. For example, I experienced occasional crashes in Safari. I managed to find a workaround, but I strongly suggest being careful before using anything from this article in production. Also, while I haven’t checked on other devices and non-WebKit browsers, on my iPhone 16 Pro this page makes my power usage spike and noticeably heats the phone.

It's actually crazy how they've seemingly managed to do absolutely nothing with Siri in a decade and a half. I guess you could ask "what about iOS 26 would make me want to upgrade?" My answer: nothing. Definitely not to get a slower and bugger UI, nor to get full support for headphones I could simply return for a full refund. I'm using iPhone 16 Pro.

I’ve an iPhone 16 Pro and it is definitely a noticeable slowdown for me, if you compare having “Reduce Transparency” on or off (which toggles most of the Liquid Glass effects). As evidenced by the sibling comments, not everyone seems to be as sensitive to this.

Except that it doesn't actually take a photo - it (slowly) launches the camera app, which you can then use to take a photo. You can long press to begin filming a video, but at least by default it won't actually take a photo to press the shutter. Poster above is correct, it's slow enough that I frequently miss spontaneous pictures on my iPhone 16 Pro - as much because of the terrible recessed design of the shutter button as the software delay.

MOST things actually feel smoother/snappier than iOS 18 I have a feeling the whole smooth animations thing contributes to this a lot. Obsessing about the reaction time and feeling of how stuff comes on the screen. But yeah iPhone 16 pro is probably a bad performance test case

I did not get my 1TB Black Titanium 16 Pro on launch, in fact I picked mine up two months ago and the first thing I did was install a brand new battery. Since my battery service I haven’t had any complaints using this iPhone. I have 102% battery health with 26 charge cycles on the new battery so this iPhone will continue to perform well for me for the next few years of use. The two main negatives with this iPhone, outside of heating up when under heavy workloads, are it’s long term battery life, this affects all iPhones by the way, and storage capacity, which is why I chose my 1TB 16 Pro, otherwise I don’t find any negatives with keeping this iPhone to use daily. With iOS 27.2 Developer Beta installed, this has been an awesome iPhone for me.👍🏽 With iOS taking up 26.33GB, System Data taking up 18.81GB, and my Apps, pictures/videos taking up an additional 75.85GB, I’m using up 120.84GB of storage but with 1TB I still have 903.16GB available storage. If I were to get the cheapest 128GB 16 Pro on the other hand, this would leave me less than 7GB storage and yes this would be a problem. Hi,i still use 16 pro 256gb silver one,in case and screen protector from day one,phone looks like new,battery health strong 94%. Sometimes i take out from the case to see how beautiful is this last frame,its so hard to swap for 18 pro,greetings from Scotland.

Maybe i got lucky, but definitely on ios 27, battery life to me is exactly the same as the 11 pro and 13 pro…i.e, pretty good.

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26.6.1, Skeets v1.30.1. Interestingly I do get notifications on my phone (eg your reply) but when I tap on them it says “authentication failed”. Deleting/reinstalling seemed to fix it, but not for long sadly.
