iPhone 14 Pro Max

In my experience, iOS only misses keys during the time the keyboard is loading (which can be over a second- crazy!) But I often have input lags where I will press several keys, and then a period of time (which can be multiple seconds) will pass before my taps are registered. The 14 Pro Max launched less than four years ago, and should not be slower than an Android which launched a decade prior.

I mean I kind of like "boring"? I upgraded from a 11 Pro Max to a 14 Pro Max last year and it was my phone, but better.

Used to not be a believer of having AppleCare. Got it when I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max years ago since then: new battery & new telephoto lens last year, new screen today because I dropped the phone and it ate shit yesterday battery and camera replacement cost nothing busted screen cost $29 sigh

have been using 14PM since 2023 and changed the battery last year and its on 98% right now... lasts all day for me and still a wonderful phone.

This is still to this day my daily phone. Bought this back on release in 2022 and have loved it ever since. Only downside now is the battery not being as good as it once was but still very decent and it was a bit annoying knowing that Apple Intelligence was not available for this model but Apple's AI has been pretty terrible anyways so it did not feel like I was missing out lol.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max has 10 hours SOT on ios 18.7.1 for 3 years and 3 months. Should I update to the latest ios 26.3?

I bought the iPhone 14 Pro Max Deep Purple 6 months ago with 93% battery life for €670 and it is working very well with iOS 26.3.

i still have this phone from 2023 and fully satisfied.. no need to upgrade because apple intelligence is already failed...

I have had the iPhone Pro Max since the end of 2022. My battery life is 97 percent.

I purchased a 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max at launch, miraculously my 14 Pro max just dropped to 99 % after Ios 17 developer beta 6 and my 14 Pro still at 100% , I don’t use cases on my devices, I turn off 5G since day one because LTE still fast for me , no fast charging at all, I charge both devices overnight using  5 watt brick

My 14 pro 9 month 2 week and battery health 98%...I don't know how some people still got 100% battery health after a year lol

I got a purple iPhone 14 5 months ago and it’s a perfect phone

i bought the iphone 14 pro max in deep purple a few months ago with 87% battery percentage 128gb for 500. still holds up very well and i absolutely love it.

bought my first iphone which was iphone 14 pro max 256 gb on 12th march 2023 now battery health is 76% probably will change the battery and maybe use it for more 2 years

I’m at 90% but I got my phone on release day unfortunately and the battery didn’t last very long out of the gate, but because of the massive problems and a lot of phones had to be replaced, I was told in a month they would switch it out with a new one, Apple then REFUSED to switch out my phone and if I wanted a new battery I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $100 for a new one but other than this I honestly love my phone

i agree with you on the weird bugs. been using 14pm for almost 9 months now. the battery health is at 90%, which is quite shocking for me.

After one year on iPhone 13 pro, my battery health was 92%. My 14 Pro is still at 100%. Still, the 13 Pro had better battery life.

If you have a bigger battery you don't need to charge as much. Also battery life does depend at the cell reception and wlan covergage much more then people are aware. Like you I always had over 95% battery after a year with the Pro Max. But it's a hdifferent story with the normal Pro you charge much more often. And now after less then 11 month and bad reception it's less then 90%.

Overall battery health is also down to 94%. I've had this phone for 15 months. My iPhone 14 Pro Max is 4 years old, sees less but still daily use, and also has 94% battery health remaining.

My iPhone 12 was at 90% after 1 year. Maybe because it has smaller battery capacity than the pro max variants.

I have an ‘old’ model (iPhone 14 pro max) and text frequently misses characters due to the lag/input delay. It’s most pronounced when using safari for some reason. In any case, it’s odd that hardware is multiples better yet it doesn’t always nail something as basic as typing

I will give this another chance but the last time I used this on my 14 Pro Max it would get hot to the edge of discomfort

I think if I were in the market for a new iPhone the non-pro ones are more than enough for me. I’ve a 14 pro max and I don’t use all of it or its pro features. What’s even crazier is I am tempted by the pixel fold — that looks amazing for content consumption which is what I use my phone for the most.

I’ve been snorkeling and swimming with my 14 Pro Max a couple dozen times, taking videos and photos, and never had an issue. I also wash my phone under the tap regularly (weekly or more) because I spend lots of time in a grimy workshop for hobbies. Only one data point but the waterproof aspect of modern phones is one of my absolute favorite developments.

Funny that you say that, a couple of weeks ago I saw that a friend's 14pro max had a broken camera glass on one of the 3 cameras, it was only the protective glass they installed yet I wondered why they keep it like that and they were like "oh it doesn't come up in the camera" but I had to investigate. So I see from the relevant pictures on the internet that it is the 3x telephone one, I open the camera app, put it on 3x and.... nothing, the image is still clear, no signs of the broken protector glass and I'm confused. After checking again and again and playing with the zoom and putting my fingers on the cameras trying to map the zoom setting with actual physical cameras, I realize that the actual optical 3x lens was triggered under specific conditions which currently I don't remember but confirm what you wrote here I guess. [...] My expectation is that when I consciously choose that zoom factor, it does use the hardware I paid for, otherwise why buy the hardware to start with ? And in this case the hardware part is the main feature you spend more money for, it is not a side-feature. If nothing else I would expect this as a configuration item, by default using the actual hardware with an option of "turn this AIblah thing on for the phone to select the best possible camera for you for any zoom level", could even extend it to more mambo jumbo (or not) wording but you get the point. They still have their hostile parts pairing. Parts pairing isn’t inherently bad but it could be done in a way that is consumer friendly. The faceid won’t work, the true tone won’t work, the front camera won’t work, and the auto brightness won’t work, but night shift will work and the screen itself will work. I can easily overheat an iPhone 14 Pro Max by taking pictures for half an hour. Even opening the camera app and leaving it unlocked the same time is enough to greatly overheat it. I don't know why the camera app is so power hungry, but I've replicated it with different two phones of the same model belonging to different people. It's very annoying if your use your iPhone to take pictures while traveling, because it will be drained by the afternoon, and it's something that didn't happen until the late iOS 16 versions. [...]

Just bought mine yesterday. Upgrade from iPhone 10 and I love it. Feels premium and everything is still up to date!

Yeah, I used to buy a new phone every 2 years just to maintain my image as a tech manager, but I bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max when I retired and it’s still running great. I hope to never need to replace it.
