iPhone 14 Pro

Because of a very, very last minute AppleCare replacement (like, 35 months after purchase), I have a year-old iPhone 14 Pro. I figured there was nothing Apple could introduce yesterday that would turn my head, but the 40+ hour battery life AND the adjustable aperture on the camera are, by themselves, making me consider it. It'll all come down to what discounts or carrier subsidies are available to me, and what the trade-in value is for my phone. [...]

My iPhone 14 Pro is almost 4 years old and at 65% capacity. I don't know how everyone else is (not) using their phones.

I've had Chargie for like 9 months now and my iPhone 14 Pro battery has stayed a steady 99% as when I started to use it. Great little device, highly recommended!

I've had a Note 20 Ultra the last 2.5 years and have used the always on display the entire time. At first I didn't care about it but now I think it's almost a deal breaker if a phone doesn't have it. Android just shows a dim date time and notification icons so it's not a distraction but it's nice to just be able to look at your phone and see those things without having to wake up the screen.

Coming from an almost 8 year old iPhone 6s Plus with the original battery lasting for 1.5h and having it plugged in for the most part of the day, a day and half of battery life is gonna be a huge upgrade and I honestly I don’t care if someone think it’s not good enough 😄 Now in regards to notifications I think this is good and the way it should have been done long ago, it keeps your screen clean and all you need is a swipe of a finger to look at them, I don’t see a problem with that at all.

After 7 years I switched ti iPhone 14 pro and i am having fun it works as it should be i was tired of android pixel and Samsung treat me like a ginny pig and experiment not a customer late update bugy updates it was a mess.

Not sure if it was the same bug, but I had a storage issue where System Data ballooned to like 200GB. It had the most bizarre solution; airplane mode, set time to one year in the future, reboot, wait a few minutes, set time to 6mo in the future, reboot, wait a few minutes, set time to now, reboot. [...] I've had the same problem on my iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 17, but the "set time to the future" trick didn't work. [...]

I had AOD enabled until battery life deteriorated to much since my phone is almost 2 year old now. Now I use it to show notifications and it turns itself off

Been using this beast for 3 months , totally satisfied with performance , camera etc ,battery backup is not that much good, but ok for my use . Lovely device❤

It may "leave out" more than 90% of "current" users, but there's still the upgrade cycle a lot of us are going to be walking right into this fall. As an iPhone 14 Pro owner that's been stuck in a carrier agreement for the past couple of years, there hasn't been any "incentive" for me to upgrade, and I'm naturally at my upgrade point now. I'll likely be going to a 16 Pro no matter what.

I run iOS 18 and have no problems with my battery, it is at 73%. iPhone 14 Pro. Don't think I'm going to install 27 either.

I have an old iPhone 14 Pro and I haven't been able to get too much working as far as adblocking outside of the pihole. Firefox for iPhone is bad and Mozilla has committed to simply not fixing it. But I want my bookmark sync so I'm stuck.

Wish they'd have implemented it before the iPhone 14 Pro launched. I'm at 624 cycles right now and my phone's gone below 80% fucking ages ago.

It sounds silly, but I've got an iPhone 14 Pro and have been eyeing that action button on the side of the new iPhones. I'll probably upgrade just for that little button once they announce an iPhone 18 later this summer.

I use a popsocket on a naked iphone 14 pro and it's great in my experience. I don't think I've dropped it once after going worth this setup.

That's a cool idea and I'd probably be on board for it if I weren't married to a different case system for compatibility with the mount on my motorcycle. If I were 10 years younger I'd probably leap on a new phone to pick up USB-C, but (a) Apple replaced my Lightning-based iPhone 14 Pro at like the last possible moment of warranty, so right now I have essentially a new phone and (b) there's still so many OTHER Lightning or USB-Micro holdouts in our house that USB-C Nirvana is years away. (E.G., Lightning on 2 sets of regular Airpods plus my Maxes as well as our phones; Micro on both our Kindles, my espresso scale, my camera's battery charger, and a ton of cycling gadgets.)

Just to add an opinion that goes against the grain a little bit: I've had my iPhone 14 Pro since release and I could count on one hand the number of times I've charged it via the cable. I find the MagSafe charging is extremely convenient, and plenty fast enough for my usage. [...] (Technically my phone has a Lightning port but you get my point.)

What I don't understand is why modern phones like my iPhone 14 Pro have UI lag sometimes... Like you can see the frame-rate visibly slow down sometimes on translucency animations etc. Like the 14 Pro is so much faster than the first couple iPhones, and those didn't even have UI lag like that.

I agree that phone manufacturers should focus on features more than performance as it's been more than fine for some time now. I use an iPhone 14 Pro and it's still more than fast enough for everything I do with it. I use Mint Mobile because it's cheap and has been reliable for my family. A couple of months ago, I traveled to Belize with my iPhone 14 Pro, which only has eSIM. This release seems good overall btw, I also put it on my iPhone 14 Pro and it seems way less laggy. I am still waitlisted for the slop features and my phone won’t be able to run them anyways but it’s not hard to be better than last year’s dogshit release.

I just went from a 12 with Battery Health 88% to a 12 Pro Max with 85% and I leave work with 64% battery instead of 26% battery. The difference in battery life is MASSIVE between the smaller and larger phones. I highly recommend a Pro Max phone for your daily use

The 14 PM has been really bad with battery sustainability. My 13PM had 100% left after 13 months and my 14 dropped to 99% after its first month.

Upgraded from XS Max to 14 Pro Max. Pros - 120 hz is a dream, screen is larger, very fast processor, longer battery life, amazing camera. Cons - No 3d touch (didn't thought i would miss it that much) but eventually you will get use to the hold gesture.
