It's battery life. I was an iPhone 13 mini user for the last few years. I would buy a refurbished one off Amazon whenever my current one broke. I really prefer the smaller screen size. Recently, I broke my phone again and my wife happened to have a larger iPhone laying around unused (through some accident of e-commerce). [...] I don't watch any video on my phone and most of my screentime is Kindle and Safari. My screentime is only like 2-3hrs per day. [...] I actually now would prefer to keep my new annoyingly large 16e just to not have the battery anxiety. (A hidden assumption in the above is that larger screens make more room for battery.)

My iPhone 13 Mini is almost 5 years old and well over 1000 charges and the battery health app reports 81% which I believe.

I mean, I paid like $100 to have apple do it on my iphone 13 mini. It took a few hours and my phone works approximately like new. If a $800 phone's battery lasts 4 years, it's very much worth $100 to get even a couple more years out of it... [...]

Yep, I bought mine a couple years ago and it's still great. I've been thinking about getting a new phone with a bigger screen because of my old eyes. However, I mostly use my phone for when I'm away from my iPad or Macbook (both 2020 versions because they're cheap and still work great). Dailyed the 12 mini for a year and just bought a 13 mini this week. 13 mini is my new daily and the 12 mini will be a backup, as i use these phones for work. There’s nothing smaller and lighter with so much power and support.

Owned 13 mini since release. It’s really as good as everyone says. The day this thing dies is the day I stop using a smart phone.

I’ve had a 12 mini for years. 5 years maybe, I lost track. It’s soo good. I love it. Huge phones are crazy! I’m trying to figure out if I upgrade to a 13 mini or get the 17? If they made a new mini I’d no doubt buy one

After more than 4 years I still using it and I absolutely love it and I replaced the battery with OEM battery and it’s feels brand new again and it’s ready for another 4 years

so after 4 years using the 13 mini because they never released a smaller phone, i finally bought the 17 pro and after one month of use, i decided to go back to the 13 mini. the form factor of the 13 mini is just too good

Took my phone in for a battery replacement today and the Apple person said my iPhone 13 mini was “cute” and she’d not seen one in ages. It only came out in 2021! Surely I’m not the only one who’s kept their phone for 3+ years?

Back in January, I had a new battery installed in my iPhone 13 mini. The phone is four years old, and for about $100, it was like getting a brand new device! It’s 6 PM where I live right now, and my phone is at 89% battery.

I bought a 15 pro used for about 4 months but went back to 13 mini for pocket size. Aesthetically still think 11 Pro is sweet spot for a mobile phone. May even return to using that

I really wish they continued the mini series. Using 13 mini since 4 years. They just need to upgrade battery with new tech and usb c.

I plan on getting the Clicks Communicator later this year, its the only small phone that I know is coming out any time soon. I’ve been using my 13 Mini for only a year so far though.

iPhone 13 mini (and ex-SE) user here, this phone looks great! [...] I think the real keyboard is an interesting and welcoming compromise for its width. If the built quality is on point, I'd see no issue with the price. [...] I appreciate the minimal color options - I have this thing where all my technical devices running software should be in all black, and any colorful details would just bother me a bit (looking at "playful" design choices like the lime green switch on the Fairphone 6). Fair - I have an iPhone 13 mini, which works well, but I can imagine anything bigger getting quite annoying.

I’m still waiting for another small form factor iPhone like the iPhone 13 mini before I upgrade. I find it a lot more ergonomic to use

This made me happy. I had a second hand iPhone 13 mini stuck on 18.2 with no upgrade path other than iOS26 (which is not a good fit for the 13 or my eyesight) - now I updated within iOS18 and afterwards can update apps that require a minimum of 18.6. (like ice cubes for mastodon)

I have some clip-on USB-C to Lightning adapters that work really well for charging and Carplay. The connection got flaky at one point, but cleaning the port with some iFixit tools fixed that right up. Clinging to my iPhone 13 Mini until it's natural death.

Photos on Mac doesn't have an option to download photos directly Yes it does. [...] You keep asserting to the contrary, but I've been syncing my entire photos library to my Mac for years, since it was iPhoto even. Obviously if you have a larger photos library than storage space on a particular device, you cannot synchronize the entire library to that specific device. [...] my photos library vastly exceeds my iPhone 13 mini storage, so on my iPhone, I don't sync everything. But my Mac has 2 TB of storage, and Photos is setup to sync all my photos, and does so, reliably, and has been, again, for years now. [...]

What about the security update, especially for the phone ? There have been critical flaws patched recently. Agree that iOS 26 is trash and it empty my iPhone 13 mini battery in less time than I need to write it.

And yet I personally know more people who own iPhone minis (myself included) now in 2026 than that own pixel phones of any model. I think the data is distorted by the fact that most people who want things like that also don’t typically buy new (especially with cars). I did buy my iPhone 13 mini from Apple directly, but I bought it after the 14 line had already been released.

I've bought used iphones off amazon with no issue. (no other way to get a small-sized iphone 13 mini except used)
