iPhone 11 Pro

The battery in my iPhone 11 pro (6.5 years old) is still basically fine as long as I charge it every day. None of my previous smart phones were able to keep enough charge to be useful after 3-4 years.

I guess because from a user point of view it doesn't make much sense: by the time the battery is dead, the phone is so outdated it serves no use anymore My previous phone lasted four years, and really I only replaced it because I have more money than sense and wanted a 120hz screen. iPhone 11 Pro, came out nearly five years ago, still totally fine, lots of them in circulation. The battery was certainly beginning to show its age by the end, but the phone was otherwise fine. [...] And getting supported still longer; current phones, particularly on the high end, are far faster than they need to be to support the OS, and rate of hardware change has slowed significantly (Apple, say, hasn't had a full-blown microarch change in years, with the M1-4 and their sibling A-whatevers being very much incremental progress on each other).

I'm still using an iPhone 11 Pro that I bought used, it's now almost 5 years old and still very, very usable. I did have the battery replaced about a year ago, but unless I break it/loose it, but I can see myself using it until Apple stops making OS updates for it. Even then, they seem decent at pushing out security fixes for old phones (I believe the 6s got a patch recently even though it's 2 versions behind the latest version).

I went from an iPhone 11 Pro to 15 Pro recently, and four year's difference is definitely noticeable, but it's not a huge deal (honestly I upgraded mostly for 5G and the 120hz screen).

I've never thrown out a device because the battery needed to be replaced. I got the battery replaced on my iPhone 11 Pro for $89, after 6 years of use. Both of the Apple watches I've owned, I've gotten 'battery replacements'; Apple has you ship the watch to them, and they ship you a new one.

I got a new battery installed in my 7 year old iphone 11 pro. I forgot how fast and responsive this thing could be.

I got my -watch -iPad -iPhone 11 Pro (that lasted 6 years) -iPhone 15 Pro (that I just got like 2 months ago) from there and haven't had a single problem

they’re only gonna allow my beloved iPhone 11 Pro to update for one more year, and I’ll probably get sucked into AI features on my iPad M2, but I've felt zero temptation to upgrade my phone for lo these 5-6 years.

I am still using my iPhone 11 Pro that I bought 7 years ago, despite being able to afford buying a new iPhone and just chucking my old one in the canal

Yeah I bought mine July of 2020, iPhone 11 Pro - the only thing that is getting me close to upgrading is the battery life, otherwise it’s more than good enough for what I need it to do

me when my iphone 11 pro that i bought in 2019 is laggy, doesn’t have any available storage, burns battery power rapidly, and heats up a lot when i open literally any game app

So I’ve been using the IPhone 11 Pro Max for about 5 years and 21 days now

Watching this 4 years later as a reality check before buying the 15 pro. I can’t see enough of a difference to justify upgrading 😅

This phone is amazing been having my iPhone 11 Pro gold since it came out and won’t be upgrading to the 12 cause this one still is amazing

I don’t like spending $1k on a phone, but my iPhone 11 Pro lasted 4 years and the only reason I upgraded was because the 15 has USB-C. It would have needed a battery upgrade otherwise but modern phones do have much better longevity.

My review of the iPhone 11 Pro Max I used for 7 years is that it was a 5 until it started burning my hands (!!!!) a couple months near the end. My review of the 17 Pro Max I’ve been using for a week is that it doesn’t seem to burn my hands any further (they’re still a bit sensitive to heat though).

I got an 11 Pro 256GB i got it for so cheap since 3months and after a while i gotta admit that i need to update lol i aint saying its bad tho its actually a great phone as long as u just use for daily use and not for gaming or camera, i aint saying its bad for gaming tho actually u can start a gaming yt with it but im a heavy gamer tho i get constant 60fps tho but i need 120fps lmao and some times the 11 lags lol (i said sometimes only when it heats which can be easily fixed by using a fan and cool down ur phone)and for the camera its alright but not good if u a camera addict so i will keep my 11 pro tho i will just switch to 14 pro or 15 pro after i will never switch lol but remember kids remember 11 pro is great dont listen to people saying its bad when its still a beast it all depends on ur preference me im switching just for 120fps on games and a lil better camera lol😂 Kids please remember for an iphone for that old a single android that comes the same era as iphone 11 are not as powerful as the 11 so dont worry yall can buy it if yall need it yall will not regret it as myself i come from using android before and i guarantee no android of the era of 11 is as powerful on games or camera like 11 me i just have preferences for 120fps and better camera thats why im switching nothing more🎉

I dunno, my wife has has the same iPhone 11 Pro Max since 2020. She had to get the battery replaced once at an Apple store, which I believe cost $99, and it took like thirty minutes and it wasn't that hard. I'll admit it's a little annoying that I have to pay a hundred bucks to get the battery replaced, but the phone is otherwise fine and still gets updates, so I don't know that I buy that it's "planned obsolescence".

Yeah, my iPhone 11 Pro came with the ultra-wideband chip in late 2019, and before the AirTags were released in early 2021, I believe the only thing it was used was for ordering AirDrop targets by proximity. It was clearly intended for the AirTags from the beginning, but it took about 1.5 years before it actually mattered.

Their landing page via Safari manages to crash my iPhone 11 Pro repeatedly, namely crashing Safari but also another app and the Bluetooth connections - had not seen that before so they are clearly innovative.

Define “a couple of years”. I am using an iPhone 11 Pro and only just now am I upgrading to a 16 pro, mostly for the camera. The phone itself still works well, including the battery.

Im there with you, my wife as well as myself are in fact like your girlfriend and I work an highly educated software engineering role. I simply don’t care, still on my iPhone 11 Pro Max which I got as a present from my parents at the time. I think battery power drain is even not fast enough for phone companies to sustain the selling Model. My guess is sooner or later they realize the real control point is software updates and they forcefully shorten OS and specially OS security updates under a bullshit reason they still can get away with to get us all back in line of buying regular phone upgrades in fear of hacked internet banking.

From my own experience, iPhones are really bad with idle battery life. The iPhone 11 Pro I have for occasionally testing iOS apps would drain the battery in 3 days just laying on my desk doing nothing. [...] But I suppose that difference isn't as noticeable when you actually use an iPhone as your real phone and charge it daily at night.

I also own an iPhone 11 Pro. It's in great condition and I plan to keep using it until it no longer receives major software updates.

I just bought one for $200… 256 storage capacity with 100% battery health and all parts original with not much scratches on the body.

got a new phone, upgraded from iphone 11 pro to a 17 pro. I didn't think my phone was that old until I looked up the release date: I got it during the first trump term, pre-pandemic. I am again shocked at how fast a new phone is, but mostly happy to hold a battery charge longer than 5 minutes.

I love my iPhone 11 Pro and I will not get rid of it. I use it every day.

I downgraded to iphone 11 pro max due to financial problems before this i used iphone 16 pro max and it’s very painful

I won an iPhone 11 Pro Max on eBay this morning. It has 100% battery health, and I got it for $107.50 through bidding. The seller is a legit business and provided full details about the phone.

It’s my main phone, 512GB got it brand new all those years ago and still on the same battery. Running IOS 17.0 😉❤ the phone 👍🏼

It’s a fantastic phone for the price and considering how old the model is. Androids that are same generation can’t compare to this and are abandoned long time ago. I have 11 pro 256gb in dark green as my secondary phone and it’s absolutely fantastic.

Watching from my 11 Pro Max.. Love the hell out of this phone. I upgraded from the 7+ so the differences I’m experiencing are just so monumental.
