I’ve got my Apple TV 4K like 2 years ago and it’s been the best, it was actually my gateway into the Apple ecosystem

The newer and better google tv streamer 4k is half the cost. reply I wouldn't go remotely that far, the old Apple TV blows the doors off every single Google TV hardware product in performance including the (now ironically causing the price shift) Nvidia Shield TV. Much like Car infotainment, the Smart TV market is full of awfully under-specced hardware and the Google TV Streamer is definitely not nearly close to being as fast as it should be. [...] All of this is to say that I wish Google would make a Streamer Pro in this $200 price range that would just have last year's Pixel CPU and no ads.

This can be solved by using any number of 3rd-party streaming devices: Apple TV, Google TV Streamer, NVIDIA Shield, ... I've never experienced an TV OS that was reliably better than one of the above, though a Roku-OS TV came close.

This line in particular puts a bad test in my mouth, because my $2k LG G2 OLED has the worst support for casting I've ever experienced. Have a house full of Roku TVs... also have a house full of Google Smart Home devices and we have switched to Pixel phones (have surpassed iPhones IMO) If I ever switch to GoogleTV it would be because of the SmartHome integration and router ability.

I have Google cromecast HD but now is slow all the apps I buy this Google tv streamer and is faster in all my apps

Has anyone had issues with the streamer freezing? Almost every time I have used it at least once per day it will freeze up and I have to reboot it. I ended up going back to the Roku Ultra.

Anybody having network issues on these devices? I'm getting 600mbps download and only 70 max on the streamer. Driving me nuts

I was complaining about how bad hockey looked streaming on the Chromecast from my phone on the bedroom TV, so she was going to buy a Google TV streamer, but for about only twice the price we could get a new 4K TV with it built in. Hockey looks much better!

I just bought this today and I love it. I side loaded some apps with no problem and I think this is going to replace my Nvidia Shield. Great video I never miss anything you put out

The TV streamer does suppoet multiple bluetooth devices simultaneously. I can use keyboard, mouse and controllers simultaneously. I have not tried connecting speakers/headphones/airbuds etc, I guess that's what you're referring to?

This is great for its Price/Features, for sure. Its nice to have this kind of device that you can throw for any Display that have HDMI connector.. Also i have to mention, that often example, the IPTV google boxes from paid TV channel providers are most inferior to performance of this device and more expensive. [...] You get this for cheaper and more recent Hardware in it + all the Google TV app ecosystem of course..🤔

Im ok with google BUT PLEASE GOOGLE WHOEVER DESIGNED THE REMOTE NEVER EVER LET THEM USE THE OLD DESIGN. It always slips off my hands and it crawls and wedge itself

I'm currently looking for a replacement to my xiaomi tv stick 4k. It is very laggy and slow especially after startup. [...] I bought my mum TCL tv with google tv and it is 100x better than vidaa.

I got a Google TV streamer last month and I'm very happy with it. It's so much faster than my TVs built-in UI, and now I can run Kodi to access my 2TB media library!

Personally I never use the LG OS or really any smart tv OS since they're so much slower and laggier than a dedicated device. I got a Google TV streamer which is imo the best option if you're not an apple user. The Nvidia shield is also a great choice.

I have a Google TV Streamer. 1st reason, it cannot catch-up particularly when I am viewing sequentially YouTube Short Reels (it will either loss its sounds or the screen get corrupted); 2nd reason, the sound disappear when viewing long YouTube Movies or Features; 3rd reason, its ability to shot-down my (Sony) TV power intermittently works; 4th reason, it does not allow USB connection, thus I cannot connect my wireless keyboard & mouse; and 5th reason, it does not allow access when I subscribed Disney+ with Crave package (I only get Disney+). I connected it by wire from the WiFi device (ethernet-router) to improve performance but it still failed. I am the sole user of my internet and Google TV Streamer. [...]

They need to move the mute button to the side of remote like the Roku does. I don't have to look at their remote to mute. I sent my Google streamer back.

I had to drop money for the Google streaming device because my YouTube premium subscription will not work on my new Sony TV. I think it's a way for Google/YouTube to make plenty of money.

Me too, mostly stream it from my phone to my Google TV Streamer attached to my TV.

Switch from apple TV to google TV streamer due to switching from IOS to google and have to say i prefer the google TV streamer - it shows my netflex up next on the home screen apple tv can't do that. Overall been smooth at doing everything i want it to.

I have had my Google TV Streamer since it launched and all your points are spot on. Although I do wish you covered video support like HDR10 and dolby vision that built in TV streamers occasionally do not support. Also, regarding the ads, the cool thing about the android system is that it is mostly customizable compared to other competitors, using a third party launcher such as Projectivity launcher.

I bought it in order to be able to connect the Philips Hue Sync Box to my Smart TV and am positively surprised! I didn't see a need as Android is running on my TV anyways but surprisingly it works better with the streamer.

Wifi is all good for phones or a laptop around the house but for EVERYTHING else I will ALWATS go for a wired connection 100% of the times. The remote is HORRIBLE though...fortunately I can still use my Samsung smart remote with it. So far I am pretty happy with mine but only after replacing the UI with Launchify and getting rid of all the adds and recommendations.

I have an ONN Google tv box. It cost me $19.99 and some tax. It works fine. It is smooth and fast enough. It has frozen a few times. But 99% of the time it has worked fine. For $20 I can not complain about rebooting the box occasionally.

I hate how this and the onn 4k pro dont play content in what it was made for like the Chromecast did. On the chromecast the menu was is stereo sound and it switched to whatever surround sound format was needed for the content but on these new boxes, everything is in either stereo or dolby surround which sucks.

My chrome ultra with an Ethernet plug and no remote is doing great. Ive not seen it in years as it sits on the back of my tv.

It's a frustrating component to own. The interface is my favorite, but there are always audio hiccups or something else, and at this price point, the Goggle Streamers should blow everything else away and it does not.

I have had a wholly positive experience with my Google TV Streamer. It meets all of my streaming needs, and its performance has been consistently smooth, with no discernible lag or system crashes. Furthermore, I find the advertising to be significantly less obtrusive than on my previous Roku Ultra, and it has not detracted from my user experience.
