I sold my Palit 5080 and got the Palit 5090 about 6 months later. The framerate/time is noticeably smoother

Cyberpunk fully maxed out is the only thing that gets to that limit, only just surpasses the 16gb though at 4K so hopefully the card will still last a very long time maxing games out. BTW the Astral 5090 is £4,700 at this time

I just recently got into experimenting with local LLMs when I had anyway (for non-LLM reasons) built myself a new desktop system with Intel Ultra 270K-Plus and RTX 5080. [...] Does anyone's have experience adding a 2nd Nvidia GPU of the same generation but different (slower) model in the same system? Will it give a major boost with larger models, or will the slower card just be a bottleneck? I have an unused RTX 5060 Ti 16GB that I'm considering to install alongside the RTX 5080, but it would necessitate removing some other hardware, so I haven't bothered yet.

Doesn't directly answer your question as I don't have a modern AMD card to test with, but even with an RTX 5080 Super + 9800X3D, I was still only getting about 45-55 FPS at 4K60. I left the default settings of High and DLSS enabled (Ultra was slower). [...]

Still rocking my 5800x3D + RX 7900 XTX + 64GB RAM combo. Can play all games at 4K no issues. Glad I decided to buy all these before the rampocalypse happened.

Managed to get a Used 5080 for only $100 over MSRP. Feels like a steal in today's market. Figure the chances of me buying an Nvidia card with over 16GB of VRAM in the next 2 years aren't high anyway. This should last me a good while and 16GB should be enough at least for full Pathtracing at 1440p if it eventually comes to that.

I am still running my 3090ti i have zero regrets does everything i need and running my 13900k and 64gb of ram cost me a lot at the time but have never let me down not once.

Im gonna be honest I dont understand the vram problems. I have 5090s and a 5080 in my Small form factor rig. The 5080 plays everything! Just turn settings down to High instead of Ultra which is the same thing i do with my 5090 right anyways.

Just got one and have it clocked +350core +500 memory and phew; Hell yeah. Love it. I’m good to go until the 6080 Super or 7080.

I had to get something that maintained the standard of performance of my 4080, which I thought was malfunctioning though it might not be. when you start playing cyberpunk at a certain resolution/framerate/settings, any thought of a downgrade is an impossibility.

I’m pretty happy with my 4080 FE, that paired with DLSS 4.5 and I have no problems holding out until the 60 series. This Blackwell generation really made Ada Lovelace even more valuable. It’s crazy that the 4090 is still the second fastest card. Outside of MFG the best deal for a GPU at this point is probably on the used market.

I have the same card, that aorus master ice is the best 5080. Idle temps 30º or less, when gaming does not reach 50º. I have it since was released and i did not had any issues related to the gpu.

I just bought a gigabyte oc 5080 but i intend to game with my 2k monitor so that i have all maxed out. no need for 4k

I came from a 2080 ti to a 5080 vanguard before they sold out and I got my for $2300 cad a month ago and now they are $3200. I must say the 5080 is amazing it performs very well with my 32in msi 321urx 4k oled I getvover 200 fps on almost all games at maxed settings

I bought a pre-built PC in October with a RTX 5080, and love it. Handles my 34” 3440x1440 easily, and everything looks great. Haven’t tried overclocking yet.

I have this exact card and love it. The only problem is that I wanted a 5090 but this is all I could find day 1. Now I wonder what I am missing. This does power my Ultrawide 5120x1440 at it's 120hz most of the time but I feel I need more for some reason. I agree with all of your assessments. 👍👍

Totally agree with you! I had a 5080 on a Alienware AW3225QF, I hit limits on 4k so I got fed up with it and moved down to a 5070 ti on a Alienware UWQHD Oled and I am super happy, saved some cash as well, bought a x3d cpu and not looking back, love Ultrawide btw it's incredible! <3

Seeing the 4K performance I feel so glad to have stuck with 1440p 360hz. Absolute sweet spot IMO for this card, gets the best performance to visual quality ratio and still has some head room for coming years, mine barely breaks a sweat running things at max graphics and RT/PT. Also, on my end I've never experienced those issues with my old trusty DP cable, I wonder if that was maybe a faulty port on some cards.

Well I got fooled into the 9070 XT hype. But after struggling with that card for 6 months I got rid of it and bought a 5070 Ti. Finally I’m at peace again.

I own an RTX 5080 and 0 complains and it runs MSFS 2020 on DLSS Preset M in Quality Super resolution. Play God of War and zero issues, running smooth and GPU core and VRAM temps staying at 40c and 60c and with a power draw of 300W, unlike the 5090's fire hazard risk as it runs at a minimum of 600W to 650W...brutal. No way I am getting a 5090, even if I can afford it.

I got a MSI Ventus OC Plus 5080 for 950$ black friday sale. Perfect timing :)

I upgraded from a 1080 and build a new pc during single days and black Friday. I paid the RTx 5080 around 700€ and it's been amazing.

I got it at slightly below MSRP last aug. [...] Cost as much as the 4080 super, half of the 5090, and only about 200 USD more than the cheapest RTX 5070 ti in my area. [...] Can connect to Dolby atmos soundbars. So it was the best value for 4k gaming IMO.

I skipped this generation, I've had a 4090 since it came out and a 4080 Super in a second PC, the gain for the price of the 50 series disappointed me too much, well you can argue that 30 more fps at 4k on a 5090 isn't so bad but for $4000 I say no even though I have the means and could have resold my 4090, I never use fake frames, I'm waiting for the next one, the 50 series could triple in price and I wouldn't give a damn, as far as I'm concerned, the 50 series is a failure, that's my personal opinion.
