I've used a xiaomi redmi note 4 (mediakek) for many years before i got it stolen. I've purchased a xiaomi redmi note 10 after that (i am supposing there were six years in between). I was still using it but then I needed one of these big folding phones and bought a samsung z fold 5. It broke down in 2 years, i am back to my redmi note 10. [...] I will never buy an expensive phone again it was a dumb move. Just the cheapest android on aliexpress.

Same here bro, im still using my ZFold 5 more than 2 years and still loving it. Everything is also functioning well but I did broke my main screen 2 yrs ago which was quite expensive to replace and from that time on im using screen protectors n these heavy duty shock proof phone cases. The z fold 8 just came out but I think im keeping my z fold 5 still.

I also owned the Fold 5 and my durability experience was different. The main screen started peeling after 8 months of use and the back panel melted in the sun.

Had my fold for just under 3 years. Will wait for the fold 8 price to drop before upgrading, mainly due to the bigger battery, more ram and faster charging. The fold 5 is still going strong however and I am in no rush

I have a 2nd hand one bought last year. Still working good and no hardwarei ssue

I’ve had my galaxy fold 5 for 1 year or so and haven’t had any issues with it

I have removed inner screen protector when it started peeling 1 year ago, no problems and colours looks nicer

My Z Fold5 is probably the same age as yours. I had the same issue with the inner screen protector coming loose, but I did have Samsung Care which gave me a one-time free replacement of the inner screen protector, so it still looks like new even to this day. 12 months in, wireless and Bluetooth don't work anymore, the disconnect randomly all the time to the point that I d t use iether of them. Sound button is stuck on lower, so it always mutes sound. I love the form factor, but it isn't a super reliable phone.

For me, the biggest thing not being talked about with the Fold5 is the durability. I have gone caseless for more than six months, and after countless falls and bumps, it's flawless with the exception of a small nick on the hinge and a tiny scratch on the front screen. Iterative design, while frustrating, can often lead to better QC.

Been using mine for 11+ months, not switching to the Fold 6 because i don't think the upgrades are worth the money. Hopefully the Fold 7 will have bigger battery & matte inner display.

I had my z fold 4 for 15 months before it completely died out of nowhere (never dropped, not a scratch on it) and even though I miss it tremendously (I started reading much more because of it) I’m so scared of spending again so much money on a phone that might not last even 2 years. And it doesn’t help that Samsung couldn’t even tell me what the problem is, all they did was tell me it would cost U$980 to replace (according to them) “the entire inner section”.

My fold 5 lasted me exactly 14 months before my inner screen... broke? It wasn't cracked but I got lines on it and it wouldn't respond to touch anymore, but it still responded to my s pen. It is worth noting that I was not at all careful with this device. [...] My ankle didn't survive that fall but my fold 5 did. [...] $300 total since samsung does %50 off repairs for fold inner screens regardless of warrantee. [...] As far as durability goes, I wasn't careful with mine and it honestly lasted me longer than it really should have. If I remember I'll update this comment with how long the repair lasted me.

Odd. I've had the Z Fold 5 and now 7 and the last few years' worth of Samsung firmware has been excellent for me. Perhaps they build 'for' their flagships and let devices that perhaps have lower tier chipsets run slowly?

Fold 5 is the most comfortable Smartphone I've held within the last 12 years. Perfect widh, rounded bottom right edges (left and right when opened, so perfect both for one and two hands), deep enough to be held securely. I tried the twi Fold 8 variants recetlntly, they were too wide and uncomfortable, especially the mini variant.

One huge benefit of a Zfold series, is that Amazon does "renewed" listings for Samsung products. I got a good condition ZFold 5 today for 550 Canadian, which is a bargain compared to finding other used or new phones on the market. Great deals to be had!

I'm on the Fold 8 now, but I still have my Fold 3 (which was my first fold) and it's still going strong today.. and that phone has been through a lot of things lol. Durability of Samsung's folding phones doesn't get talked about enough.

My screen protector was starting to come off like yours so I just peeled it off like 8 months ago and it's doing just fine with no screen protector. This phone has been a beast for me cause it's my only access to the internet and it's amazing at multitasking. I would love a new fold7 or 8 for the larger outer screen and how thin the new ones are, but until I can afford it, I'm still loving this fold 5.

Just noting it out loud, i imagine most people who upgraded foldables, don't realize how much they miss the under-display-camera feature until it's gone. For me, i didn't even register there was an inner selfie camera because of how well z fold 5 covers it.

Yo my man I got a question for you. I’ve had two Samsung Z Fold 5’s and BOTH of them have bricked the same exact way. I was playing games on my phone while it was unfolded, while the game mode engine was on. On top of this, I was falling asleep and my phone died with the game engine lock on screen. [...] My phones died in less than 3-6 months because of this.

I have Fold 5 still got no reason to let go 😭 thinking of swapping it to S26 ultra. But im looking forward to functionality but into photography

I just bought a used one for 550.00 for the 512gb version. Love it its been great so far and the condition i got mine in was excellent.

Z fold 3 was my first folding phone I had and I wanted to love it but it was hard since it folded weird. I think ever since the ZF5 they have been solid. I have been rocking my ZF6 and love it. Ive had it for about a month now, what a slick phone

The hinge is normal. [...] It was Samsung's attempt to take pressure off the screen when folding it closed. [...] The Fold 4 was notorious for cracking up the hinge when closing the device because it would lock against the display in the crease when trying to fold back in on itself and crack up the middle! The Fold 5 never opened completely flat to eradicate this issue, which is why the screens last a lot longer on them compared to all previous Folds before it! Mine is the same fold 5 blue in box it's not completely flat either and it's near new used handful of times as have the S24 ultra and the fold 7 so just put back in its box for a spare but keep it updated now on one UI8.

I use my Fold 5 as a desktop monitor in landscape position with a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and stand. IMHO, landscape is the best way to take advantage of the stereo speakers, which are quite good, for immersive listening.

I have the zfold 5 which tmobile upgraded me from the fold 4 free of charge since they sent me a replacement that the wifi stopped working and I was gonna get the fold 7 but decided to wait for the zfold 8 since it should have a creaseless inner display

Watching on my Fold 5 and I really love this phone. From the narrow form factor of the outside screen perfect for 1 handed use to the beautiful inner screen for multitasking and entertainment. Durability wise I have had no problems at all. I just installed matte screen protectors for both screens and it is truly a bliss using this machine and I plan to keep this until a newer one comes out with a bigger battery. [...]

Absolutely zero regrets i use my fold 5 for work and navigation soooo much. It's used last as a phone and at home I use it Absolutely tons for video chatting as well and its all just bein so good. Biggest thing i noticed is the fold 5 hinge has stayed cleaner and opens 100% perfect. I don't use my phone in a case unless at work and its taken a phew drops on pavement without a case and has taken it like a champ the hinge and frame is very tough and preventing cracks and scratches tho the pavement did dent it and scratch it but thats user error. I love my 5 got an original case with pen were it slots on the back was lucky to pay 650 brand new had the slight mark what you couldn't realy see classed as a A grade not a referb with original box leads and Samsung case great phone no issues well worth the buy great video ❤

I got my first Fold (Z Fold 5) and won't go back to normal phone. At first I was extremely anxious about using it, especially folding it but over time I learned that it is much more durable than people think.

This is a super review. The important thing is about everyday use in many different situations. It is difficult to explain to People that hasn't had a Z Fold. My wife and I do t use pc anymore. The ZFold 4 and 5 does everything and has almost no issues.
