Galaxy S22

Well, my Galaxy S22 (from well: 2022), which still works great will no longer receive any updates after February 27, so I'll have to get new one, or potentially suffer open security holes in the future. [...] Will probably get another Samsung, as they have extended updates to 7 years for newer S models.

If pictures are important to the buyer, they should get a high end Samsung, iPhone or specialty Huawei/Vivo models. Every other phone will have a generic camera lens and imaging algorithm. [...] A 4 year old Galaxy S22 will take better pictures than a 2025 Motorola or any other Tier 2 Android brand.

Used mine with a Galaxy S22 for about 6 months, zero connectivity issues. Also given others also are saying they've had no issues I'd say it's pretty fair to assume this was an isolated problem unrelated to the topic at hand.

I watched this 2 years ago before buying the device.. for some reason today I came back to watch again, while smiling at my s22 lol..still is an amazing device

I went from an S7 to this, huge upgrade! My S7 finally broke after 6 years. The S22 is roughly the same size as my S7, I don't want to go any bigger than this!

I switched from the iPhone XS to the S22 three months ago. Best decision ever.

There's flash degradation that's unfortunately a factor, too. If not for that and thermal problems (which I learned were common in this model), I'd probably be still using my S22. (OTOH, I upgraded to a foldable, and don't want to ever use a regular candybar phone ever again.)

I just spent vacation deciding not to bring a laptop, but to use my android phone (a galaxy s22) with a hdmi adapter and Bluetooth travel keyboard. You can also just use google family link, make someone else your parent, and lock down the phone. I have a "dumb phone" that is just a refurbished Samsung s22 I bought. Only supports phone calls, messaging, and some credit cards basically.

I've switched to a CAT S22 Android builder's flip phone, and my usage has dropped significantly. The screen is so small and fiddly that it makes me feel sick using it for extended periods - exactly what you want from an adictive substance like a smart phone. Having to physically open it to use it, and then waiting 5 seconds before it lights up, creates a psychic barrier to just 'quickly checking for updates'. The camera is like an early 2000s cheap digicam - just about good enough for documenting things but it hardly beckons you to want to photograph your life constantly for social media. [...]

That's beside the point but I don't game on my phone (s22 with 128gb) and constantly have to shuffle storage just for photos, videos and music streaming cache. Storage is so cheap it makes no sense to pay 1,000$ for a device and then be a slave to manually managing it. It's insulting.

I have on my desk, the Galaxy S8, iPhone SE (First generation), the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 14 Pro and the Galaxy S22. I intentionally now choose and look for phones that are the smallest possible now (S25, iPhone 15pro or 16pro) etc My favorite to take with me is the 13 Mini. Would love an iPhone 18 mini.

It was true for my Galaxy S22, and is currently true with reboots after update. And yes, early on I had a situation where the phone rebooted overnight and remained stuck on the lock screen while disconnected from networks, until I woke up and noticed. Fortunately I didn't miss anything important, but after that I immediately reviewed all settings and disabled anything that could reboot the device automatically (including updates, which are set for manual installation now).

Hmm, yes, I did not try these but I have noticed that my default phone app in my S22 is freakishly fast at detecting QR codes, something I never remember that zxing was. [...] Sometimes it feels like only 1 frame in the camera is enough, and distance, angle, lighting and focus is not important.

Before I wrote a single line of code, I championed my abilities to add/subtract individuals from photos for family and friends, first using ClarisWorks Paint! My Samsung S22 can now do this within seconds and better. [...]

As an owner of a Samsung Galaxy S22, which is not small but seemed to me like the only sane size - feature - price balance on the Android market back then: maybe the reason is battery life? Thank got at least the new Ultras have only snapdragon I had a exynoss s22 and my experience was miserable, in and out the repair center.

I need one to photograph artwork (and my cats) i have a Samsung Galaxy S22 that I bought for the camera specifically and it turns out that camera has always been garbage.

@deeznuts I got a 9a recently and it is noticeably slower than my old Samsung Galaxy S22, and the 10a has the same chip.

is it normal for s22 getting heat up from using the camera less then 10 minutes?? and also tiktok because I play tiktok around 30 minutes it's getting really hot . I just bought this phone early this month

I got my S22 last month. My prior phone was an S10 E . Both are great phones but I like the S22 the best.

Mine just came in today. Gotta say, it's an awesome phone. Much faster than the Motorola I had before.

Currently watching and typing this on my S22! Got this phone because I really love the design and its small size!

got my S22 this month after using my previous phone since 2015 😆gladly i've got the phone that's in the line of latest models. So far I am happy with its features

Seriously, I switched from the note 20 ultra to the z flip 3 to the s22 and I'm glad I did. [...] The s22 is a breath of fresh air and sigh of relief in phone form. [...] Its sooooo wonderful to not have to deal with a curved screen. I'm grateful for a flat screen because I haven't had one since I grabbed the note 9 years ago. The s22 is everything a person needs and a tiny bit more in a cute and compact form. [...]

Samsung is doing pretty great stuff in their Good Lock app. Some features were straight up added to One UI, some are just good usability and customization enhancements. I have stopped using NovaLauncher for the first time in years and am just using vanilla Samsung quite happily.

Still rocking the S20 Ultra (the 512GB one...SIXTEEN GIGS OF RAM!! So cool...lol I was sad to hear the new phones max out at 12...oh well, I guess) and have really liked it. It's been great! I'm not going to upgrade until the next Galaxy Fold is available, though. That will probably be my next. 😁

I'm glad it got smaller. I love the S10, and am now on my 3rd. My main reason for not upgrading was that I liked the smaller size and didn't like how they kept expanding them. This is the perfect size for me, and if they go back to this size, I'll eventually upgrade
