Turns out running a 10+ year old interface on your modern PC is a really bad idea. I've had the same Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface (Gen 1) since 2015, and I think the drivers finally stopped working properly on my PC. I ordered a new interface, but that also has some bad news with it:

Been having a lot of fun this evening with Two Notes GENOME and my new Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, which seems to find just the right Hi-Z level for the guitars I've used with it. I'm always getting the gain too hot when I set it manually. Because I'm metal \m/

I have a smaller version of this and it's pretty good as a display. I can't speak for DAWs but in 2019 when I tried switching to native Linux my Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen USB audio interface did not play nicely with Debian at the time. I'd get an endless amount of crackles and pops during recordings / playback and I spent days going over tons of audio configs / tools (Jack, Alsa, PulseAudio, etc.). [...]
