Dyson V15 Detect

My V11 died after 2 years; battery life was not the issue. It was the points of connection of the base to the main stick; the floor head (even after buying a new floor attachment) couldn’t work. I could not justify on buying an even more expensive Dyson.

I'm going on +3 trouble-free years with my V15. Ended up giving away my Hoover upright vacuum because of the flexibility and cleaning ability of the Dyson. I added additional accessories to help clean floor/ceiling and my vehicles. I have a plug in computer air blower that helps clean the fine particles when servicing. My wish list would be an On/Off switch and the option to add a shoulder strap. I sometimes need both hands to dust move Knick/knacks on a shelf or doing dusty blinds (I have the hose attachment).

I had the V8 and it could clean a 1700SF house without any problems - even after it was several years old. I did eventually replace the battery, after maybe 4 or 5 years. No big deal.

We’ve had ours for a year and a half and it’s definitely losing suction. Yes, I do keep it clean. Have to use it on turbo just to get average suck.

I think an important part was perhaps missing from the review. [...] Hair and other things get tangled in them and it is very difficult to clean those small wheels/drums. Ease of movement on the floor has been diminished compared to first days significantly. It is way more work to vacuum now. Even after spending an hour to clean them they don't roll as smoothly and freely anymore.

I actually bought the V11, but refurbished one to save money, a few weeks after your initial video 2 years ago. [...] It was def worth every penny, but yeah, I do agree the push trigger is the most annoying part. [...]

I got mine 2 years ago too! I love it, I have the outsize one and got the laser head separately lol 😂

Only have 2 times when my Dyson V11 acts up... first when I need to clean the filter and second when something is stuck in the intake to the holding area - sucked up something I shouldn't have. Battery works well even after several years - lasts 20-30 mins which is more than enough

I bought a V12 several months ago to supplement my Kenmore canister vacuum. Now I’ve decided to donate my Kenmore and get a second V12 so I have one for each floor of the house. I used to hate vacuuming and now I love doing it daily.

I am so behind. I am still using my V6. Replaced the worn out battery a couple of years ago.

I love my Dyson, had it for 8y l, obviously way older model but really want to upgrade to cordless. This was very helpful😃

I have 2 Dyson one big with a cord and a older cordless model. Both about 9 to 10 years old. Now its time for the battery and some filrers to be replaced.

I vacuum at night with the lights out too! It does make vacuuming fun. I vacuum nearly every day now and ENJOY it. I used to maybe vacuum once a month with my traditional vacuum cleaner or my V6.

The Dyson V15 Detect is the first Dyson product I've owned and I'm blown away by it's effectiveness. I have a new home with lots of hard surfaces and even though they 'look clean' this unit blows me away with what it sucks up. And vacuuming in the dark with that light power head is SO MUCH FUN 😊

I just got the dyson v15 detect 3 weeks ago i didn't get that extra battery but i still love it i finally got it for my bday im so happy it was either the v15 or the shark power detect

I got it today, and hands down, it's the best vacuum cleaner I've ever used. However, another frustrating con is that I can't set a default cleaning mode. I'd prefer to make eco mode as default, but it automatically switches to Auto after I've stopped using it.

I just bought this Vacuum Cleaner & what i did was get a Brush to Clean the Filter. Other than having to hold down the Trigger, I have had no problems with this Vacuum. I like the Crevice Tool to clean where the Floor Meets the Baseboard & get to the Corners.

I have the v15 detect submarine so after vacuuming I use it to mop. I live in a large 4 bedroom home. I’ve never run out of battery.

Also a design defect to me is, it plugs Easy! Up to the body of the canister Unless I have an old fashioned coat hanger… I’m stuck

I just got my V15 yesterday. I love it! Also, the V15 has full HEPA filtration, not just the Gen5. The aqua filter housing on the Gen5 was mostly a way to distinguish them visually.

YESSS!! I turn the lights off to use the light also! I used to have to turn all the lights on & it would get so hot in my house & I would hate it & end up not doing anything else after I vacuumed😅 I don't have that excuse anymore & tbh I'm not mad about it😂😂

I’m afraid the run time is only 60 minutes when on Eco. If one has carpets like me, it will only run for 17 - 20 minutes with the machine on Auto/medium and you have carpet and use the motorized brush head.

I have the v12 and I turn off the lights when I vacuum too. The laser is awesome!

I have a Shark and I got the one I did because when I used to watch my best friend’s house, you couldn’t see the white dog hair on the white floor but when you’d go to vacuum …Holy cow!!! [...]

I live in a small apartment and have the V12. The V12 has a smaller canister and it’s so lightweight and easy to use, I actually use it almost every day. I love the V12.

Yes, the laser light is everything you said. I couldn’t believe how filthy my floors were, when I first used the V15 because I had just used the robot, earlier and had mopped, the day before. I have no regrets purchasing this vacuum.

I bought mine because of you and is one of the things I love the most in my house. I hate cleaning 😅

I just got the Dyson v15 Detect extra but it didn't come with extra battery 😒 nevertheless I love it!!!

That's an awesome vacuum!! I still have a V6 and since I live in under 1,000 square feet, I can vacuum it all and still have battery left. I definitely would buy a larger Dyson if I lived in a larger home.

[...] The trigger being the biggest one. I was able to buy a plastic lock (on Amazon) that clips on and locks the trigger on or off which works great! I found that whole holding the trigger super hard on my hand. [...]

Bought it yesterday and was very excited especially because the hair detangler but just tried it and it sucked up all my throw rugs and carpets. Any tips on that or should I return it for something lighter and with less suction? Thanks
