Core i7-14700K

I've been firmly in camp Intel ever since my third Athlon 2200XP burned itself out (and finally took the motherboard socket with it on its way to the melty grave) back in circa 2005 (Intel CPUs had thermal envelope protection at the time, AMD CPUs did not). This fiasco has me convinced that I will not be building an Intel system again, and I haven't even (yet) had any problems with either of the Z790 i7-14700K systems I put together in March.

It slows single-threaded programs the most. [...] That said, Intel said performance drops should be negligible if any. I haven't updated my system yet since ASUS's releases are currently marked as beta, but I don't expect there to be notable performance drops either. Granted, my 14700K in my daily driver has been working perfectly fine since I bought it and so have all the other Raptor Lake machines I care for.

I've since upgraded to a 14700K and Windows 11, but I still have my previous 2700K machine around as a sub unit. Aside from forced Windows 7 obsolescence, it can do practically everything except play the very latest games just fine. If I could have been bothered to downgrade the Windows 7 install to Windows 10 it would have been even more useful to this day.

Got any specific numbers? On the Intel side of things, I've seen my 14700K idle at around 5W (which shoots up to 300W under load, I find it greatly amusing) and my 12700H at 0.5W or less.

I checked and I have it enabled. But, I don't have a dedicated GPU, just whatever is inside of i7-14700k. Maybe it's just not up for the task?
