Bigscreen Beyond

Still have bigscreen beyond and that thing great but the controllers and lighthouses are definitely showing their age. Been using these lighthouses those for 7 Years! Will probably still use the beyond for elite, buuut…

I agree. Hopefully Bigscreen continues making hardware. I still have the original bigscreen beyond and im very happy with it besides the glare.

I am able to take my real, physical media that I possess, and turn them into working objects in VR I can enjoy, and watch on a TV I wish I owned, in my dream room, in an intuitive way Bigscreen Beyond just doesn't support this easily.

I own the Bigscreen Beyond 2E and love it. If you have the infrastructure for the Index already (Base stations, trackers, controllers, etc) I honestly think it’s the best on the market. Not cheap, but outstanding image quality and very comfy.

The bigscreen beyond 2 has eye tracking, it's an amazing headset and my daily driver for any time I'm not doing hand tracking stuff, in those cases I use the Quest 3s (specifically the s variant, it has better tracking)

im sad to say i can't recommend the bigscreen beyond 2. [...] im on my third unit and all have had issues with lenses/displays/audio. and tbh even if i got a working unit, i'd be worried about it breaking later on, outside of warranty guess i'll wait for the steam frame?

I have used most of the major headsets. [...] Vision Pro's ergonomics are bad, as are Quest 3's, but Bigscreen Beyond 2 is much, much better and could be acceptable for laptop replacement I think, especially with the flip-up halo band they are working on. For inputs, passthrough with keyboard and mouse/trackpad would be fine for desktop work, and eye tracking could be used in combination I think, along with tracked controllers for 3D tasks. Something with the ergonomics of Bigscreen Beyond 2, passthrough and resolution improved beyond Vision Pro, and the hackability of Steam Frame, I think could be pretty attractive as a laptop replacement for some people. [...] But a Steam Frame with a higher resolution screen and a better head mount (and the Arcturus Vision passthrough camera add-on) would be pretty close.

I bought one at launch, a lot of the critiques here ring true. Nags: It's absolutely too heavy. I'm using XSOverlay, but since I got my bigscreen beyond it's actually made it a little harder to see my IRL environment while I DJ. I may mount a webcam to it just for that purpose.

I've used a bigscreen beyond 2e with the audio strap for a while. I tried the stock elastic head strap again today and turns out it's more comfortable... Imo there's a couple major design flaws with the audio strap which actively make it annoying to wear. [...]

Current Bigscreen Beyond experiences: - Finger tracking has vanished from SteamVR Home, but is fine in VRC (????) - Some kinda motion blurring when I turn my head - how do I get an avatar's existing eye movement to become eyetracking.... - I'm going to need a USB-C-to-3.5mm for my headphones...

I got my BigScreen beyond and it left 2 very powerful impressions on me: VR form factor is improving wildly. We're very close to headsets so small that they can be rigid plastics that sit directly on your face. Not there yet tho Customized/personalized wearables remain difficult to get right
