[...] Have had mine since new and put a new battery a couple of years back. [...] If you can’t afford the newest is certainly not a bad choice if you get it dust cheap.
Thanks to the Always On feature I was able to turn off the activation of the screen when I turn my wrist. I was wasting the battery when the screen activation function was active when I turned my wrist, because there were a lot of false activations during the day. This is not only a waste of battery, but also an annoyance, as sometimes it is not even appropriate in certain situations. [...]
My first Apple Watch is series 5, I bought it to stay active as I am type 2 pre-diabetic and i am on metformin medication. [...]
[...] I've had the original Apple Watch, then the Series 2 and I just upgraded to the Series 5 primarily for the cellular to use with Apple Music. [...] I haven't noticed a big battery drain yet. [...] Although I would have loved the Titanium version they upgrade these devices too often to justify a double-the-price premium for one year. [...]
100% facts about the battery life hit. I had to turn off the "always-on" display when doing my 8+ hour hikes. It totally can kill your battery in a day compared to the series 4 (Which I have used on an entire hike without it dying). Still, the watch is fire and I still charge it every day regardless
Getting one 😋 I will be upgrading from my series 1 to a series 5 I would continue to use the Series 1 except that I damaged the screen. [...] The extra features like the always on display is a bonus (I'm fine with wrist flicking to check the time). I am usually in close proximity to my phone so cellular is not a need however I will be getting the stainless steel version which comes with the cellular feature so good to have and see if I actually end up using or if it enables me to leave my phone behind when doing certain tasks. Battery life has also not been a concern as of yet but I do look forward to some extended battery life for sleep tracking. Qi wireless charging is another bonus for when I am somewhere that offers it (airports/coffeeshops/etc) Waterproofing is something that I do look forward to (series 1 is only splash proof) as I always have to be careful to remove when by the pool, at the beach or in the shower. Im not the kinda guy that dunks my phone in the pool for a picture just because it is water resistant.
Im still wearing my apple watch 5 41mm in 2026 been using this since it released and battery still lasts whole day by the time im home its around 20%
Still using my series 5 I picked up in November 2019 working to this day and Apple released a minor update today for the watch to continue to work after January 2027
I have my Apple Watch Series 5 it looks like new, it’s been six years since I bought it but the battery doesn’t last for a whole day 😔 still very happy with it 😊 I know it’s not going to take more updates but it’s fine for now.
Yes! The whole summer I was riding my bike to work everyday and I would have to almost crash every time I checked the time
It’s good if u just want a watch and step tracking and don’t need all the other fancy shit mine broke and I got a replacement for $90
i still have my apple watch 5 44mm ceramic with the space black stainless link bracelet. that black and white combo is still unmatched. not upgrading til they bring the ceramic back!
I’ve still got my series 5, still works very well with me 15 pro max.
I have had a series 5 since the year it came out. I love using this watch for workouts, texting, monitoring my health and staying on track in my work.
Revisiting this review in light of the Apple Watch SE really affirms my decision to buy that watch over the Series 6. The always-on display is not a feature that excites me because of battery considerations, so I'll go ahead and take the S5 processor and most of the Series 6 features without that battery-draining display feature. lol
I still think one of the biggest problems with the Apple Watch is the metal pin on the strap used to wear the Apple Watch. Whenever I sit down on my table, it hits the table again and again. I would really prefer it to be hardened rubber or any other alternative for it. Other than that, the watch is amazing!
I like the grid view. It makes accessing apps quicker than scrolling only up and down. With the list view you potentially have to do a lot of more scrolling.
Honestly, I have experienced a much less dramatic drop in battery life. Either way, it gets through he day easily and the difference it makes being always-on is huge.
I skipped some and bought the series 5 for my first watch. My friends said the I wasted my money and all watches are basically the same Is it because they don’t have a series 5?
I just picked up my Series 5 a couple days ago after years of considering it and one of the first things I did was turn the always on display off. On my first full day of usage, I got through a full 14 hour day with 55% battery life remaining.
I just bought the Apple Watch series 5 Nike, GPS+ cellular and I love it. It’s a massive upgrade from the series one I was using as a test watch to see if I like the idea of it.
I knew I wasn’t going crazy when I felt that my series 5 had a significant less battery life compared to my series 4.
I like the “blob” or beehive home screen; I think it’s the most efficient way to sort out apps in a square format; apps often used are near the center and so on
I’m a big fan of the ceramic Series 5 - I’m getting about 20-ish hours of battery life, and the always-on display is something I hadn’t expected to see for another year or two!
I just upgraded from my series 1 to a series 5 and I can say this it is a MASSIVE upgrade
[...] I have the Apple Watch Series 4 and love it! Looking forward to the new watchOS 6. 💪🏼 I upgraded from the Series 1 earlier this year, it was a great step up.
When I upgraded my 8+ to an XS Max my series 4 with cellular stopped syncing my messages. They may be opened and read on my phone, but display as unread or new on my watch. Will the new watch OS fix this?
I use my white ceramic s5 and its nice but whats annoying is that there isnt any fast charge,
[...] The frustrating thing about that though is the prices 😡 and the constant minor upgrades every year. [...]
[...] I like to view graphics full screen, you soon realise that there's no point concentrating on a tiny screen. [...]
I never noticed how much of a green tint there was on the screen of my old Apple Watch Series 5 until I got my new one but it’s pretty obvious now o.o
I didn’t know about the always on feature when I got my watch. I was really confused about why it didn’t turn off and spend a good 10 minutes trying to turn it off
When i first got my series five the two first days i had it i had to plug it in during the day
