Apple Magic Mouse

I had an issue with the original Apple Magic Mouse that would not work correctly with NiMH batteries but work fine with disposable AA. The mouse would be fine for a few days then randomly stop working; using fresh NiMH would revive it again. I assumed it was due to 1.2v vs 1.5v but perhaps that particular mouse (or all Magic Mice) was just bad.

I’ve been using the Apple Magic Mouse and I can’t go back to using a normal peasant mouse How is this not the standard?!

After about two months of use I have concluded. The apple Magic Mouse… Sucks… Seriously does Apple think we all have dainty little hands?!

The (relatively) old Apple Magic Mouse I had been using on My MacBook Pro (the one I first used with my last iMac) seems to be functioning...oddly lately, and messing with the Bluetooth connection in the process, so now I have to use the built in touchpad until I can get the Mouse replaced...

The Apple Magic Mouse has a design flaw in that it physically cannot be used and charging at the same time (the port is on the bottom) At the same time, I'm not convinced it ever needs charging. I bought one for my tablet I can't remember how far back. It's still at 90% charge.

Have you tried plugging a usb keyboard into your TV? [...] My lifelong habit of connecting keyboards/mice to random devices to see what happens has been overall fruitful - hell, even the Wii supported keyboards iirc. Used my Android to test an Apple Magic Mouse at a yardsale recently too.

My apple Magic Mouse has ran out of power again … so stuck on my phone while computer recharges. Also reminder that disrespectful / creepy comments on model images will get you blocked .

How do we go from Samsung phone screen to Apple Magic Mouse? As an owner of multiple Magic mice, this is such a non-issue. I don’t get why people bring it up so much, but I suspect they don’t actually own one.

So why doesn't macOS warn the user before you disconnect all your peripherals? What version of MacOS and what specific Mac and what Bluetooth mouse and keyboard? On my 2017 iMac running 13 (Ventura) which has a Bluetooth keyboard but a USB mouse trying to turn of Bluetooth brings up a dialog that asks if I'm sure and warns me that if I turn it off I won't be able to control the Mac with a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, or trackpad, and gives me options to cancel or proceed to turn off Bluetooth. On my 2023 Mac Studio running 14.2.1 (Sonoma) on which both the keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth it gives me a dialog that says in bold "You cannot control your computer if you turn Bluetooth off at this time", and below that in non-bold repeats that with "as you would lose your input devices" added. It only has an "OK" button which dismisses the dialog, leaving Bluetooth enabled. The Bluetooth keyboards on both of those are Apple Magic Keyboards, and the Bluetooth mouse on the Mac Studio is an Apple Magic Mouse. [...]
